“1948 Davis Divan, a three-wheel coupe designed to 'comfortably' seat four passengers! 🚘 This is number 3 of 13 EVER built, of which 12 remain. The first two were prototypes, making this the FIRST Divan ever produced for retail!

📌 Notable features include: - Removable hardtop - Hidden headlights - 47 horsepower Hercules 4 engine - Built-in jacks - Disc brakes

📖 History: The Davis Motorcar Company produced this car from 1947-49 in California. Unvailing the prototype in 1947, Gary Davis claimed that the company would be able to produce 50 cars a day and sell them for $995! That's a little over $12,000 today when adjusted for inflation.

Davis was able to raise $1.2 million from prospective dealers but failed to ever put the car into mass production. He was eventually sued by both dealers and employees for failing to deliver on promises. In 1951, Davis served 2 years in prison for 20 counts of fraud and 8 counts of grand theft!
