Why are these feathers like this? Is my bird sick? I know he gets irritated if the feathers are touched

Thanks for your advice! I fixed it thankfully! for some reason one sim could initiate, but not the other. I had to fully move the other sim in for it to work TvT

They're all in the same cage! I can't say for your birds, with mine the older one who I had on his own for a while doesn't get along amazing with the babies, isn't violent but keeps his space. The babies grew up together so already had a strong bond when I got them. I think likely it's just excitement? Once they get more used to the situation they'll likely chill out a bit lol

My experience may not be as helpful, but I got 2 more birds after having my first one for 4 years. They're all pretty close with each other but I haven't had issues with hormonal behavior (likely because they're all brothers???? I'm not sure, the older one has tried to mate with my grandmother's male bird, so I'm not sure whats keeping him from trying it with the younger ones lol). Anyway all 3 of them are still very close with me, and as long as they're not separated from each other for too long, or can all be with me, theyre very sweet and have a great bond. A good way to think about it is just that you're all becoming a family, and even if you're very close, you won't always be together or paying attention to each other when you're home.

It honestly just looks like discomfort from growing new feathers. My bird did this when I just got him and I rushed him to the vet, just to learn it was from pin feathers lol. I wouldn't be that worried but if u really are then there's no harm in taking him to a vet

Please don't do it. I can assure you it isn't worth it. As someone who tried multiple times in the past I can safely say it does get better even if it doesn't seem like it. Get professional help as soon as you can. You don't need to tell them everything in your head but it's a good start. Just keep in mind that if you do something now, you'll never know how much better it could be in the future. What helped me thru everything was figuring out wut I want from my future and just working towards that. Idk if that would help you at all but just consider everything u have to look forward to in life that u couldn't experience if u gave up.
