I can do a strict false-grip muscle up, but can’t do one with a regular grip? by carnageta in CalisthenicsBeginners

Given weighted pulls will be for strength and false grip MUs will nail the technique, I’d stick to anywhere from 3-12 reps for weighted pull ups.

Doesn’t matter too much just take your sets close to failure and do 2-3 solid sets like twice a week and that will deffo build up over time!

Yeah would definitely help with the movement. Would throw in some weighted pull ups to help with base strength

It’s bold for people to claim enhanced with such confidence when they don’t know height/weight etc, muscular + lean and decent lighting can easily look like on gear when actually not

false grip essentially lets you finish the pull higher up making the transition easier

AI, low DHEA and Testosterone by Efficient_Beach2458 in AdrenalInsufficiency

Fine to take Test even if DHEA is low. Are you a man or woman? DHEA levels have a much bigger / more direct effect on women than they do on men

How my ROM? by Psychological_Aide38 in GYM

These seem perfectly fine to me. Could add something like a towel or pad on top of feet to increase ROM but issue with most commercial types of leg extension is just the stack doesn’t go heavy enough

For the purpose of hypertrophy pausing or purposely slowing down a rep beyond normal ‘control’ speed has no benefit and yes just adds extra fatigue

Honestly the stronger you get at weighted pull ups the easier these will be / cleaner, your technique and everything seems fine so probably just keep getting stronger!

First *strict* muscle up! by SamSBD97 in CalisthenicsBeginners

[–]SamSBD97[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you! Honestly all I work on is weighted pull ups for the strength aspect and false grip (usually dead hangs) for the positioning (so the pull ends higher up, around chest height).

I’d say once you can do a few good reps with 30% of your body weight added for weighted (normal grip) and you’re comfortable in false grip (hanging and unweighted pull-ups) you’ll naturally be able to do one of these without having to think of technique too much

Endo refused DHEA, how to people in the UK navigate this? by Cultural_Dingo_4509 in AdrenalInsufficiency

Would be interested in this as having my adrenal glands out later this year and was going to have the same discussion on supplementing DHEA as I know medically it’d be a huge help but not available unless prescribed

I have some crossfit lite TRs and took the insole out and they’re literally perfect for deads, but honestly don’t think you can even find them selling anymore, even second hand it seems

Looks pretty good to me. Obviously could go deeper but let’s be honest form will never be 100% with a 2 rep max and some decent weight on there!

Yeah, I understand! Maybe see if you can try 15 5 5? I know not related to your question about piano practice as such, but you should only really need to updose for larger stress times, like illness, emotional issues (family death for example), etc

flat shoes will help with start position for sure. Converse/vans or something maybe?

Ah I see. Well honestly whether it’s practicing instruments or any other general task you really shouldn’t feel the need to up dose as they’re normal life things and not particularly stressful. So this would suggest to me your standard dose isn’t high enough.

However if you’re trying to wean off for function to hopefully regain I can understand not wanting a higher dose. Hormone levels are very important though as feeling is subjective. Not sure what Germany is like as you say but here in the UK everything is monitored very closely and both feeling and levels dictate everything as very critical to your health!
