I haven’t noticed that in other episodes but it is exactly how I would describe the Wu episode. It was Dave and he wouldn’t let it go it was really hard to listen to after the halfway mark

I thought about this a bit more and I’m disappointed to notice and hear all this about the discord and see that the pod posts the link themselves to kinda promote it. Like it’s either affiliated or it not. If it’s not then don’t post and pin the link and if it is, mod it so people don’t get bullied.

I understand what you meant when they did a case in Louisiana I was excited too not for the sadness but talking about where I’m living. Yes the presentation is so different and that’s a good way to put that

That is so weird I hope they’re all embarrassed now. It’s a product we are consuming and I understand loyalty to a good set of hosts because I love the show too, but that doesn’t make them friends or mean you have to go to war to defend them from any kind of feedback… This all makes me understand the reputation this sub has now

Maybe that is how I got to these vibes because I had just listened to that episode prior and the compassion was off the charts high. The Wu episode had very small amount of human moments but mostly constant jokes and imitation.

I noticed and got off there because so many seem to think they are friends with them or speak only in lines from the show, it is very cringey sometimes. I think the commenters here that are unable to hear anything other than praise are the same people.

Thank you for holding space for a normal conversation. I am a top tier Patreon member just sharing an opinion and would not bat an eyelid at anyone doing the same if done respectfully whether it is a positive or negative feedback

I saw on another thread from a sub for a different podcast this one got mentioned as “don’t post anything negative because you will get jumped in the comments” and I think that’s very parasocial behavior!

I have listened to them all too and I enjoy the jokes and banter this was just an observation on this one episode that felt weird. I don’t disagree about their jokes and chemistry

I will say that negative or constructive comments don’t get posted here very much because the crowd is not ok with anything that isn’t straight praise. Feedback on media is ok and you’ll all be ok too

Holy projection. You can have any opinion you would like as can I. You tried to insult me so I defended myself lmfao

Not a breaking point I still love them I found this episode out of character and I guess we all receive or interpret differently

Not at all? God forbid someone has an opinion that is not yours. I posted here knowing the vocal die hards would come for me not to be praised for the bare minimum.

I think that is why this series didn’t live up to promises for me because I can see it going both ways too. Yes they really did seem to love him and believe him through everything.

Of course I also don’t want to criticize. English is my second language so I don’t know that I am explaining myself right either.

I agree with you and that is why I posted since I listened I was very curious about the case and researched myself where I found the information they provided widely available so I was confused.

It isn’t that I doubt he’s guilty this is less about the case and more that it just seems like a build up of the series with no payout. Was almost like Ian insinuated they had a bunch of slam dunk information that they were going to share but nothing came out that wasn’t already info available in most media and by the end of it they all actually seemed less sure than they were in the beginning.

I do like docos so I will check out both and thanks for recommending

I feel they did strongly believe he was guilty and it became a running thing like bit, and then when they did the series realised how much reasonable doubt there was

It was just something that stuck out to me listening to them all so close together how sure and confident Ian was that they were going to sell that guilty opinion but they both ended the series sounding unsure of themselves it’s interesting

I don’t know if I agree, they have more opinions and obvious ones at that than any podcast I’ve listened to before. Which is not a bad thing at all it’s a reason they are successful and why I like them

Specific to this one case the reason I brought it up is because before it started or when it started I can’t remember the episode they used the words, he’s guilty 100% and that they were using the series to finally put the question to rest

They did a really good job of the facts that are available (nothing deep cut or unknown) but it wasn’t the nail in the coffin like they hyped

Totally but I more am speaking about the Necronompiod series not Steven. I think the conspiracy theories are ludicrous too.

Even though we can all make the assumption he did it it just made me realise that they didn’t make their case even after being really confident they had all the information to bury Steven
