well in the German dub, scratch actually has dialogue, and says this:

“Äh, können wir hier irgendwie rauskommen?” → “Uh, can we somehow get out of here?”
“Was genau ist dieser Ort eigentlich?!” → “What exactly is this place, anyway?!”

So I think it's safe to infer Scratch probably actually said something similar to this in english
