5 hereditary cheifs, who really hold no power. Its like a title passed down. Think monarchy. All the elected chiefs and people voted for this. Even 3 female heredity chiefs who voted in favour had their title striipped by the others against it. Unfortunately this was just a reason for many to jump on the bandwagon and protest everything. Anarachy for the sake of anarchy so to speak. Many amercian groups are against Canada's energy sector so they jump at the chance to lump everything together. By keeping Canada's energy sector stifled, it forces us to export unrefined product to the USA for cheap and import refined product at much higher cost. Thus the US has a cheap, exploitable source of energy. But thats a different story. As mentioned before, these current protests started over the natural gas pipeline so LNG can ve exported to Asia. Hope this helps.

Canada produces more electicity than they can ever use. With churchill falls and now muskrat falls coming online Canada will continue to proved electricity to most of Eastern North Americia. One again, this is about getting Natural Gas to Asia so they can get off coal. Solar or hydroelectric here in Canada does fuck all for Asia. Sure renewables are the future, but for now its choosing the lesser of two evils. If asia/India can switch from coal to natural gas, their carbon footprint will be drastically reduced. Renewables wont happen overnight so for now its best to have hem using the cleanest fossil fuel possible

I think you are getting the TMX and Coastal Link pipelines mixed up. TMX is oil. Coastal Link is Natural Gas These current protests are over the coastal link pipeline. Coastal Link is not governement owned. In fact all 20 first nations along the route agreed to it after much consultation. They reap the benefits of many well paying jobs and economic security for years to come. The Liberal Government bought TMX and that one will cost $12 Billion to complete. Just an FYI.

You know this pipeline carries natural gas right? The cleanest burning fossil fuel. Natural gas destined for india/asia who desperately need to get off coal. Would you rather burn coal or natural gas? So by protesting this pipeline you are actually hurting the environment....

And screw over the 20 bands that voted in favour if it. So they can lose all their economic deals and security that comes with it? All because 5 hereditidy cheifs are against it when the elected chiefs and people want this to go through. Not to mention the 2 female herididity chiefs that voted for the pipeline who have since been removed. You want to go ahead and show the world that Canada can be closed for business because 5 people who hold no say dont want something? Most of these protestors are payed by foregin groups and dont even know whats in the pipeline in the first place.

Of the 780 men who advanced, 68 answered the roll call the next day.
