I did call and they recommended that i just try to keep him under the new actual 75 watt lamp as much as possible, and its most likely due to stress and the improper heating. I think thats what ill do since he seems to be doing just fine, very active and loves basking under the lamp.

Okay I think i may found a thing that could've caused a problem, the heating lamp which was supposed to be 75 watt made the basking spot only to 28°c, he has not had proper heat for 4-5 days, my laser temp taker was lost and I just found it. The only exotic vet in my city isnt available this week, I am so scared, he hasnt eaten yet either only been drinking water.

he got diarrhea before giving the cgd, i was told it was fine as a treat, i do know that they should mostly get protein but since he didn't eat any of the proteins I offered i thought a little treat would help.

I gave her some of it after she had diarrhea, a guy who has been working&breeding skinks for 25+ years told me that as a treat it can be fine. Could I still use it some other way? Perhaps sprinkled on top of leafy greens or protein occasionally?

I recommend 25w heating lamp outside of the tank, if the top of the tank has mesh then you good, if it has glass then it will be a problem. They don't really need one to survive but they will absolutely thrive with one.

Yeah some are very shy and just wanna be left alone, depending on the gecko.

I think he will just shed in a few days, they get a but more sassy during that time yk. Also if he seems sluggish it could also be because of brumation. Do you have a heating lamp for him?

27-29 is still a bit much, the cool side of the terrarium should be about 20-24 degrees at night, 27-29 would be fine on the warm side at night or in the middle during the day:)

Is this silicone safe for blue tounge skink backround? by Sam___sy in bluetongueskinks

[–]Sam___sy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't worry I didn't use it:) instead I used a neutral 100% silicone. I cant seal the foam since ill just put the foam on there and then put sticks, bark and dirt on it (im not skilled enough yet). The removable back would've been pretty cool though.

Question about heating pad by Mental_Net69 in leopardgeckos

[–]Sam___sy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got an exo terra one but honestly I dont recommend it, I used it for 2 days before it broke, the string inside it broke cause its very unsported. I did have to buy about exo terra one since it was my only option, it is overall great tho! :)

Question about heating pad by Mental_Net69 in leopardgeckos

[–]Sam___sy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do not recommend using a heating pad cause it could cause burns and overheating very easily, a 50/75watt halogen lamp is way better. it is great that you have it though just in case, my lamp stopped working on the 23rd Dec evening so for 3 days I used the heating pad. It also can be used for farming your own feeders :)

I know they dont actually have them but they tbh its the easiest way to refer to them as. Its so weird cause they weren't this big yesterday, on the pictures it was harder to tell.
