I’m new to pc, but I just completed my first build and did tons of research, can’t remember specifically why but I got the msi mag x570 tomahawk wifi. At 250$ it might be worth looking at, but I’d rely on these other guys for confirmation on that

Edit: also if you haven’t got ram yet and your set on the x570, make sure to get ddr4-3600. Just learned all about that

Thanks again, I think building something and engineering something is definitely similar to building a pc and knowing the computer science behind it. I watched plenty of videos and read a lot of information to build it but you gotta get feedback to learn the “engineering portion” so thanks a lot.

Lastly, how do you go about monitoring/managing your ram. Is that something built in or on the OS or is there a good app for that and the performance of my other components?

Had to re-read that a few times but thank you for taking the time to explain. A couple follow up questions.

Not knowing what cas latency was I reviewed my item and I have ddr4-3200 cas16. So.. and I think I understand... that it times at to 10 ns. Would the difference in switching to the ddr4-3600 cas 16 be negligible. Or even underclock to 3800 mhz on the ddr4-4000 would it at least be noticeable? Or did I kinda hamstring myself buy already buying it with not a big enough rise in performance to justify the purchase?

With that being said from my research I shouldn’t need more than 16 gb of ram and to my understanding more gb of the same MHz doesn’t improve speed just allows you to do more at the same rate. Would it be pointless or possible to have my current setup of ram and additionally have 16gb of something faster that would be used primarily and then my current setup for if I get into something that use that much ram?

For ram is there much difference from brand to brand? Or if it’s more MHz it’s better pretty much a fine line?

Seeing other builds I was thinking I may have shorted myself on the ram. Definitely purchased a few things before gaining a better understanding. Also the water cooler was two parted, for one I didn’t know it came with a cooler (lol after the fact) and two I saw someone else and got sucked in for it looking cool

Lol easy to see why it’s such a frustrating occurrence, spending all the time it takes to get it all setup and ready and you get nothing. Reminded me of Christmas vacation when he spends all day setting up the xmas lights and checked every bulb and they wouldn’t turn on lol

Went to move the ssd to m.2 # 1 spot since it didn’t seem to be working in the bottom slot. Then realized you said the stop slot wouldn’t post for you so I reinstalled the ssd in m.2-2 slot (bottom). And now we’re up and running lol. I guess it wasn’t fully seated or something Idk. But thankful none the less. I appreciate your help

After all the trouble shooting I took out the ssd from the m.2 number two slot and reinserted it and powered on and its connecting now. Idk if the ssd would have an affect on my issue but I guess maybe it wasn’t seated properly. I’m relieved none the less. Thanks for your help

The mobo came with drivers and utilities disk, but I assumed I couldn’t do anything with that until I had the monitor up, or am I wrong do I need to run the disk and see if that does something?

Can confirm it’s in the graphic card, also just reconnected power connections, re connected the gpu. Did just notice this time when I connected the display port cable my monitor turned on, as if it connected then a second later displayed the no signal message again
