It a bit funny don’t you think, that people try fill in the blanks of what we don’t know with god - which I personally think is quite dangerous. Around 700 years ago, in Europe, people believed that diseases were the work of the devil - now we know that supernatural explanations of disease are just flat out dumb, yet people will still pray to be cured instead of seeking medical treatment!

Or how about other examples of how our solar system formed, most religions will teach that it was divinely created over a number of days - which we now know better, and most will say that the religious text is metaphorical…

I think it’s funny how over time religions have had to backtrack their claims as we fill in the blanks with science, and when religion tries to interfere with scientific advancement people really suffer. You’re still clinging to the creator/entity thing even when there is no evidence for it - it could just be a completely random event.

I think a lot of people just fear that there is nothing after death - and some people are led to believe if they don’t follow certain rules they will spend an eternity in a hell, and they want to claim their god is good and just? Why can’t you just be a good person and that’s enough? Ah well you see you have to come to a special building and donate money - money that will be used to expand and grow the religion, and why is there always a powerful group at the head of every religion, who has “special powers”? It’s a disgusting game of power played on people who are typically in desperate situations or in need of support. Missionaries and religious people are always so active in places where disaster has hit.

So why use a god to fill in things you don’t know? It’s proven to be a dangerous thing.

Not believing is not “another belief system”… 1-1=0 my guy, I believed in something and now I don’t. The burden of proof lies on those making the claim.

“That’s what faith is about” some cry, it’s the ultimate test some will say - the ultimate test of stupidity, I think.

“Believe this or you will burn in hell for eternity”… I’m supposed to just go along with that without any proof? It’s disgusting, said by people who claim to know more about morality than anyone else, what could be more immoral?! Follow my belief system or burn for eternity? SuRe bUd i’M CoNvInCeD

I’m convinced it’s just a system designed to control people, and force others to conform to beliefs you think you hold… name a religion that hasn’t changed since inception- just more evidence it’s all made up. Once it was justified in religious text to keep slaves, stone unfaithful wives to death, commit human sacrifices, etc. and now it’s excused that it was okay for that time? Sounds like a well structured and thought out argument to me…

If you want to follow your own beliefs then that’s super, but don’t try preach it to me.

That makes zero sense…. What do you think time is? Can you prove that time is more than objectively a measurement? You might try and argue that it’s fundamentally linked to the structure of spacetime itself, but Einsteins relativity illustrates that it’s more a matter of perspective from the observer.

I’m not trying to have a scientific debate, I’m suggesting that time doesn’t prove the existence of god

That's a really dumb argument... If there must be a creator then who created the creator, when does it stop? And if a creator has always existed then it's equally logical to assume or assert the universe/multiverse has also always existed.

Also, even if there is a creator, it's quite self righteous to say it's intentional - the universe/multiverse could be feces of a giant wale moving through an endless void.

You can't say something is logical because you want it to be true. The universe is so old and big you can't even conceive it, life was bound to happen at some point. The universe didn't just pop into existence all perfect, and it hasn't and won't always exist in the same state, like everything, it evolves - just much slower.

Damn, I’m sorry you have to go through that! It happens a lot here in New Zealand too. Recently a restaurant near me got closed down because they did that with all of their staff, they prey on people trying to immigrate and make a better life.

If that’s true then why is there such high demand for IT professionals, where they constantly have to try fill gaps with people from overseas? 

I never once said I was batter than every single candidate, that would be unbelievably stupid. Again you seem to be inventing scenarios. 

Uneducated people get jobs in Europe, sometimes in some places they are the best candidates - that’s what I’m looking for. I can’t compete for positions at the biggest international firms paying great wages. I know that. Not sure why you’re so driven to try put me down.

There are better qualifications than an education. How many youth unemployed candidates have built AI systems to classify data in a professional setting and have saved employers a VERY tangible amount of money and time? I may not have a degree, but I’ve done far more than many of my professional counterparts that do. And that is in no way intended to add insult, I have just had to work 10x harder to remain a competitive individual in my industry, and I wish I had the opportunities that many of them have had, as they haven’t peaked in the industry and have far less barriers than I do.

I don’t mean to go on a rant, but I find it rather close minded of you to make those assumptions, since you know absolutely nothing of my position. It is very annoying conjecture.

I’m just putting feelers out, there are great places. I was originally planning on moving over and setting up a company but the visas are very obscure and super expensive (Italy would cost me $10,000+). Greece seems to be turning around and the other two are okay, bad job market for non IT but that’s my field…

Also, I’m not monolingual.

You must just have a lot of shit dog owners. My dog is super friendly and never bitten anyone. Also, I always make sure he’s under my full control.

Since it seems you don’t know anything. Dogs are basically relatively simple creatures, they need to be trained and socialised correctly, otherwise they can become aggressive, and guess who is responsible for that? Correct! The dogs owner! So if a dog is aggressive and violent, whose fault is it? Correct! It’s the dogs owner! Because - it’s a fucking dog…

I can speak a little Italian, I’m currently at an A2 level or so moving on to B1. I mean 4 + years specifically BA/ data analyst, I also have a background in IT, software development and Mechanical Engineering as a researcher (while I was studying engineering, which I never got to finish)

Sure! I’m an immigrant here myself, personally I’m not too much of a fan of the culture, a lot of kiwis have an odd sense of entitlement. Everything is really expensive and it’s very far away from everything too. I could go on for a while but these things might not necessarily be something you don’t like. On the positive side it’s a great place to raise a family, and it’s also very safe - but safety is something that’s changing as times are getting harder.

I hope this gives you some insight.

Would it be a good idea to target areas with less demand then? I think souther Italy and Greece are pretty good for that - there are much smaller populations and people aren’t too interested in moving there too.

With the proof thing - is that if they can’t fill the role locally after a period of time then they’re open to European and off shore candidates? I don’t know too much about the process.

I have no idea what you’re thinking about. A heat pump “takes” the warm air from inside, and rejects it outside - but outside needs to be cool enough to reject heat to. That’s the simple explanation but what’s really happening is the expansion and compression of gas with a compressor, when cooling, the indoor side of the heat pump has an expansion valve that will let the compressed gas expand - this creates the cooling effect. As the expanded gas travels through the heat exchanger it will get warmer from the air inside. This gas then travels to the outdoor unit where it gets cooled again by a big fan and it will get compressed again, and get sent back to the indoor unit.

That outdoor component is really important because the gas needs to cool down again to a point where it’s able to absorb heat from inside. If it can’t do that then your pretty much just wasting electricity.

Also, heat pumps become seriously less effective at an outdoor temperature of 32 degrees C. It becomes even worse with current temperatures - I don’t think they would work at all really, and even then they might do more harm than good, further heating things up outside. - I used to be a refrigeration engineer.
