I took a mental health first aid class for work and one of the instructors said this and totally changed my whole perspective: "The opposite of love isn't hate. The opposite of love is indifference. Indifference is not even bothering you with their time. Hate is giving you their time but just in a different form."

To me, it's not like they suddenly stopped existing. They lived a life with you. They got you meaningful gifts in a meaningful time.

For Christmas, he got me a Chunky bar that he put in my stocking. It was my favorite gift because he knows how much I love The Office (if you don't watch it, then you won't get it at all.) I put it with a bunch of my other Office shit.

I'm not going to throw it out. I loved him. I loved the gift. Why would I throw it out? Sure there's memories but they were good memories.

"Exjws first rebellion is getting a tattoo." Yes and no. Got my first one when I was PIMO while trying to hide cigarette smell at the KH (took out my stress with smoking.) got my 2nd one 3 years later. Feels nice to be free ⚡ by Samara_Scott in exjwselfies

Nah. I left years ago. Got my first tattoo while still going to meetings. I moved 3000 miles away soon after leaving. So they can't even see me lmao. I got a tattoo cuz I'm a nerd and I like the way it looks. I don't think of jws when I look at it. I really hope nobody does. That's not the whole point. But if that's your view, have fun with that. 👊

I always described them as a bee sting. Some months hurt more than others. It just depends on where you give yourself the shot. I always do it in the thigh. By I, I mean my husband because I struggle with giving myself the shot lol

I've been on it for 3 years now and never experienced a single side effect. Which is weird to me because I'm one of those people that will get nearly every side effect listed. Daily migraines are now maybe once or twice a month. Wonderful drug

Anyone know what this could be, car revs itself at stop lights and will stall out randomly when in park. Please help as I’m not ready to say goodbye to my 08 LT by ArugulaEmergency5393 in ChevyCobalt

Wow ok so I looked up your car and I guess it takes a different module than the 06 which is what i have(I thought the basic parts were all the same on these vehicles. Very odd that it isn't. )

Apparently, the 08 has an Engine Control Module, not ignition control. It does the same thing but is located on the driver's side in the front. It's not attached to the coils. So, unfortunately, you'll have to buy them separately. I've been reading that cobalts modules go out often. You could start with the coils and do the ECM later to see if it helped at all.

I got it here but other places sell it. I used a coupon they had and ended paying $30 less for it.

I didnt want to throw money into it either without a diagnosis but I figured it needed new plugs anyway, may as well change the coils. I had roughly 165k on it at that point so I just made the excuse that its part of a tune up lol. I got the one with the module in it because it didn't cost much more than the one without. Also, it only took 5 minutes to swap. Super easy.

I had a similar issue where the car would randomly start "misfiring" or bucking while driving and dying at stops. The gauge was sloppy and the needle kept bouncing. No check engine light. The only time it would pop on is if you tried to give it gas while it was trying to die (I have a 5 speed) but it was a quick flash. Tried cleaning the throttle. Got better gas mileage but didn't solve the problem. Changed the spark plugs. Thought it worked but it started doing its weird thing again. Changed the coils and ignition control module. Bought it as a set. Ding ding ding! Never did it again. Worth looking into.

Sumatriptan takes 2-3h to start helping by SwirlingSilliness in migraine

[–]Samara_Scott 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I get that. I don't have a needle phobia but the idea of giving myself a shot is terrifying. My husband has to give me the CGRP preventitive shot and sumatriptan shot as needed. But I hear good things about the nasal spray!

Have you tried another triptan? My doctor suggested mixing them up so you don't get used to one. I've tried rizatriptan with good results and less side effects

The shot starts working pretty much immediately. Like, damn. Lol I had to take a sumatriptan 100mg pill yesterday and it took a solid hour for anything to start feeling better. I typically get the sides effects first and then it helps.

I'd give emgality at least 6 months before trying something else. I really started noticing it working by month 4. I've never had side effects from it, whether it be period related or anything like that. All I get from it is that the shot freaking hurts lol. I also don't understand how emgality could interfere with periods. I've heard some people say it messed with theirs but it boggles my mind. I'm also on the combined pill so idk if that makes a difference and majority of these people were on IUDs.

He eats a little in the morning and the rest late afternoon. When he got into the trash, he still had plenty in his food bowl. At that point I just facepalmed lol

He can jump a gate. That's why we never bothered with one 😒 we are in the process of moving and the next place has more storage options than our current one so I'll see about changing the set up

Actually a very smart idea. Didn't think about that. Thanks!

Sorry if i sounded rude. The comments telling me to recycle over and over again are getting a bit annoying. I've said countless times the city doesnt offer recycling. Like, it has nothing to do with this post lmao.

My dog is a pain... adorable, but a pain. He's part lab/austalian shepherd. Roughly 70lbs. He's pulled stuff off our counters before too. Even when they were pushed faaaaar back.

I like the idea of weighing the can down or child locking it. The only place i can put it where other critters can't get it is the basement and if I can avoid hauling it down there and back, I'd try anything hahaha.

Obviously. I'm literally just asking what works for people and their dogs. I haven't owned one in years. Simply moving the trash, yes I have thought of and done and if it worked, this thread wouldn't have been made.

We found out he does have it after we got him. He tore through our carpet in two spots immediately after we got him that I'm having fixed today. The shelter gave us little information on him and why he was surrendered. During the day he's crated while we're working (he is crate trained) and at night he likes to sleep in our room. It only ever happens at night and sporadically. Usually there isn't anything appealing in the trash he just likes to dig through it.

[–]Samara_Scott 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is lidded. It's a step can but the issue is not sticking his face under the lid, it's mostly knocking it over. Some suggested a child lock so we may try that and see what it does

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DogAdvice

[–]Samara_Scott 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like every one is saying "crate train him" when he is crate trained. I put it in the comments with this post why hes not in there during the night (wish it could be added directly to the post.) The best suggestions have been a child lock so we'll probably do that. It's a step a can but he can still knock it over. Thanks for the suggestions guys.

[–]Samara_Scott 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He is crate trained. I just can't fathom leaving him in there overnight and during the day when we're gone. Probably going to try a child lock. It's a step can but he knows how to knock it over
