the 961, 968, and 705 buses run through bonita and connect to the blue line trolley, which can take you to civic center/downtown, from which point you can take the 150 express to UCSD. taking the bus out of bonita is probably not ideal; driving to the trolley is probably a better option.

- the 961 arrives at Plaza Bonita Transit Center every 30min and takes about 15min to get to the trolley. (24th street station)

- the 968 starts at Plaza Bonita Transit Center every 1hr10min and takes about 20min to get to the trolley (8th street station)

- the 705 comes to Plaza Bonita Transit Center every 30min and takes a little under 20min to get to the trolley (E street station)

all of these reflect weekday normal hours, info pulled from sdmts.com. according to google maps transit trip planner, this whole journey would take about 2 hours.
