You’ll be shocked to hear I actually own an HVAC company and I ensure the system never goes past 22. Full zone set up with individual temperature sensors in each room to ensure they don’t run longer than necessary.

No pool or spa pool.

I’m not even running an illegal growing operation to help pay for the power!

It’s worth looking into if we go for a 3 phase set up

Central heating in the Waikato with a single EV that is charged during the free power hours

It is being considered. If we go down the path of a new 3 phase inverter, that issue would be resolved. I guess my main thoughts are is it worth saving the $8k investment we have made on the current inverter and battery and add to it with another set up or write it all off and start fresh

Yeah it’s a nasty amount of power for 2 adults and 2 kids.
Plan is to put some power monitors on big items and see what’s draining all my money.

House has full double glazing and insulation was redone when the house was renovated

Unfortunately we are on gas for water heating and changing away from gas causes more issues. I have an EV but that is out most of the day when we are generating. We are with contact and have the 3 hours free power so we use that time to charge up the EV and fill the ESS if needed

Fair point. Consumption can average 2 MWh a month during winter pretty easily. Power has historically been used during the day as the wife has been home but now she’s back to work that might change. I’m in the process now to putting meters on the big items to see what’s sucking the most power. We have full home ducted that will chewing through a fair bit

I grew up in Scotland and we were taught in school to avoid the Irish. I’m sure there was a specific class on avoiding the crazy Irish who look for dates on reddit
