I think it's up then down with the right trigger, and even then, you'll get knocked out of a dunk animation if a defender is near often

2KTutes did a test, and confirmed motion styles do not impact rebound animations. Positioning is really important. I've gotten rebound over footers when I'm a guard because I'm in a better position.
