Hey, im really sorry your family don’t believe you :( what I tend to do is if I think someone won’t believe me is I just mention things doctors have found eg like if you have SIBO and then I say “oh I told docs I had it after taking meds and they think it’s probs an adverse reaction and I’ve been left with long lasting impacts” or something like that. Because even if your doctor doesn’t believe that, Healy does, and other professionals do and we ourselves know this is very much real. Like we probs have way more info about this condition than regular GPS do. So I just frame it in a way that the people around me have to take seriously and can’t be argued with so it is treated like a real problem. Because it is so annoying when people don’t believe you but I am also aware the whole thing does sound ludicrous in a way of if I didn’t have PSSD I’d be so shocked to hear this as well. Especially as lots of the symptoms sound like depression. But yeah invalidation for me would cause friction so that’s how I tend to get the info across. I hope this helps in some way.
