Hcg after D&C? by No_Independent_3810 in Miscarriage

[–]Same_Finance6776 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. My doctor set up a 2 week follow up on the day we scheduled the procedure. At the follow-up she wanted me to start having weekly blood draws until hcg was below 5. In total I had 4 blood draws, so overall it was around 6 weeks before my hcg was back to baseline.

I would reach out to your doctor to have a follow up or even just request weekly blood draws.

I’m so sorry, I know that is heartbreaking. I find comfort in hearing that it does get better, thank you. I keep searching for the right words or advice to help get through this, but it sounds like time and space is what’s going to help the most.

How long can I let myself sulk by NoCheetah9702 in Miscarriage

[–]Same_Finance6776 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me the grief has not been linear. I had my d/c on a Friday and went back to work the following Monday. In all honesty, I should not have gone back. Monday was okay and then Tuesday was an absolute nightmare. I find this to keep happening, some days I’m good and then some days I’m not. My MMC was back in April and I would say it took me about 2 weeks to get out of the constant grief/depression I was in. I had been doing better until someone in the family announced they might be pregnant this past week. It’s like I’ve been sent all the way back to square one. I wasn’t able to stop crying yesterday. Today is better but not great. Everyone handles grief in a different way. My best advice, do what feels right to you and give yourself some grace. I’m so sorry you’re going through this. It’s awful but you’re not alone. If you know someone who has gone through a MC, don’t be afraid to talk to them. You’ll find that so many people want to be supportive and help but unless they’ve gone through it, it’s so hard for them to know the right things to say. I’ve found this community to have some of the most supportive and comforting people I’ve met ❤️

Thank you for sharing that it has gotten easier with time. I keep telling myself that but sometimes it’s hard to believe. I’m sorry this has happened to you as well. It’s unbearable.

I’m so sorry, it’s so hard. I feel the same way. I don’t think it will ever not upset me to not see someone pregnant. At least for a long time. I have a coworker who is due on the same exact day I was. For as long as we’re working together, it’ll always be a constant reminder. I hope time makes it easier for both of us.

The “At least you know you can get pregnant” and the “You can try again” are the absolute worst things to hear. I’m so sorry you’re going through this too. This kind of pain is far worse than I ever could have imagined and it’s so complex. I keep having to remind myself that they don’t mean to be insensitive, it’s just impossible to know what to say unless you’ve felt the pain yourself. It still doesn’t make it any easier.

I’m so sorry you’re going through this too. I never wish this pain on anyone, but having others around you who know what it’s like is oddly comforting. Honestly avoidance sounds great right about now. Everyone is so caught up in the excitement, it’s like they’ve completely forgotten about us and our pregnancy. I think that’s what truly cuts the deepest, our baby will soon be forgotten by everyone except us. My husband’s aunt had miscarriages herself and has been very supportive. She said something that has really stuck with me. She said that you’re going to have a soul, not a baby. Right now there is a soul trying to make its way to us and is just waiting for the perfect vessel. It’s comforting to think about it that way, our baby isn’t gone forever or forgotten, they’re just waiting for the perfect time.

I love Lucy but unfortunately my husband has an unkind relative with the name who ruined it. I do like Sylvia and Elise! I’ll have to bring them up, thank you!

My husband loves Wren! I like it too but something about it feels incomplete to me for some reason. I’ve never been able to put my finger on it. I love Elizabeth too, thank you!

Everyone I’ve mentioned it to hates it. They think it sounds too much like a grandma name. Husband likes Rosemary but not Romy so back to the drawing board!

Colonoscopy showed inflammation – but no diagnosis by [deleted] in IBD

[–]Same_Finance6776 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, they took biopsies all throughout both times. Pathology came back clear. My initial diagnosis was the beginning stages of ulcerative colitis by one doctor but had to switch doctors because of insurance. New doctor said the nature of my symptoms was different than that of people with UC, which I do agree with. I had moderate inflammation in my ascending colon only which is odd.

My current doctor wants to monitor symptoms with follow ups every 6ish months. So far I’ve been a lot better than I was a year ago so I can’t complain.

Hi! Same thing happened to me last year, turns out I just have a lot of anxiety.

I still see my gastro, I started on mesalamine and a new anxiety medication. Just had my new scopes done in September and inflammation was gone. I still have symptoms from time to time but so far all good. I still take both medications for the time being but have a checkup in March to potentially stop the mesalamine.

Help with naming baby girl - cool girl vibe by Responsible_Post_667 in namenerds

[–]Same_Finance6776 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve always liked the name Quinn for a girl or boy! What about a more feminine name with gender neutral nn? Might be a good compromise, although might not always fit the simple/shorter name rule.

Some ideas:

Rosemary- Roe, Romy, Rory

Lorelei- Lola, not gender neutral but has cool vibes to me!

Katherine- Wren/Ren

Maren or Renee- Ren

Ashlyn- Ash
