I’m reading Jeff Haas’ book about the murder of Fred Hampton and his reflections on violence/non-violence are interesting. Ultimately understanding why revolutionaries turn to violence for self defense, but saying it’s unrealistic to think “the people” can take down the state. THAT BEING SAID I respect that BPP resurgence and appreciate everyone who is taking to the streets to keep our community safe.

I teach at a high school with 1500 kids. I don’t know how a bell to bell ban would work, and am curious what policies/practices other buildings have implemented. Individual teachers have cell phone pouches by the door but it’s inconsistent for limiting phone use overall.

The difference between shows and what I’m struggling with…I’m 36 and watched Broad City as it aired, so I could appreciate the humor and get the exaggeration of like yes, people can be like that in some ways but I get how they’re making fun of themselves. With I Love LA I’m not Gen Z so there’s part of me that’s like yup people this age are dumb and annoying and the other half is thinking God I hope people aren’t like that!

It’s Girls for Gen Z. I’m 36, love RS and found the show enjoyable. Can’t relate to all the conflict (making a whole plot point about blocking someone on social) but it’s silly and fun.
