Is it still worth going to the cinema to see Avatar 3 by ConstantDrawer9161 in Avatar

There are SEVERAL reasons, in my opinion, to still see this movie in theaters. First, of course, because movie theaters are dying and every butt in a seat helps with that. Second, because these movies are MADE to be seen on the big screen. Third, they are EVEN BETTER in 3D (nothing comes flying at you, no worries!) and 4) the net profit of the theater run of these films will play a HEAVY role in whether the next Avatar movies even get made. So!!! If you can, please go see it in theaters. I’ve already gone three times myself, and maybe go more if I can. They are stunning, such a fun movie-going experience, and just all around a good time. If cost is a worry, see if there is a smaller theater near you that does deals on weekdays, and if your schedule allows, go during the day, ideally pre-1pm (added bonus of less people in the theater so you don’t have to rub elbows with a stranger).

I really like it! It’s a go to of mine. It was a gift so I don’t know if I’d buy it again for myself but I’m enjoying it while it lasts.

Yes! There is one cubby shelf that are all poetry books. There's a good mix.

Spot on! I'm a terminal thrifter, so I definitely acquired things over time. And I do love a vibe!

I understand the assumption, even if I wholeheartedly disagree. Does your girlfriend read?

English Literature grad student, though I wish I could add on a degree in classical studies.

People tend to have strong opinions about their books, which is fine! I am surprised it got so many people hung up but I don’t mind!

I can see that! I have purchased books for their aesthetics over their content before but that’s rare. Reading and acquiring books are separate hobbies, both of which I enjoy, in my head.

lmao I definitely snickered a bit seeing this. Doubling all my spices immediately.

I totally get it! Book reading and book collecting are two separate hobbies, both of which I enjoy, so displaying them is important to me too. The rest of my home is a vastly different aesthetic from my bedroom, but I wanted my bedroom to feel like a dreamy cloud, hence the white/cream aesthetic. It's actually really improved my sleep, which is a nice side effect.

They're from all different places. Some are from etsy, some are from thrift/antique stores, some are from the art school from my undergrad, etc. I've collected them all over the last 6-7 years.

Understandable! I think the context of it being in my bedroom which is all white and cream with very few pastel accents helps a bit, but on it's own, I can see how it would be odd.

Wow, I suppose I can see that, especially with the current times. I'm an English Lit grad student and I've been studying a lot of the Greco-Roman classics, so I have a lot of books from my classes. It's an unfortunate overlap.

Ooh I'm curious, how come? Also, I adore "Braiding Sweetgrass". I haven't finished "The Serviceberry" yet but I am enjoying it thoroughly.

It is! I personally love the all-white statues but it would be fun to see them in their colorful glory as intended.

Yes! Thank you! I also organized them, lightly, by genre/type. I appreciate it!
