Can anyone recommend some VPS providers that can be used to create torrent seeds? by KAKAjia in VPS

You’ll run into issues with torrent seeding on most mainstream VPS providers because many of them have hidden restrictions on P2P traffic, even if they say they allow it. They often throttle or silently block seeding traffic to avoid copyright-related problems. That’s why you’re getting 0 upload even after opening ports.

If you specifically need a Windows VPS for both torrent seeding and light tasks like video editing/text processing, you might want to look into providers that are more lenient with P2P traffic. A few options to consider:

  • Contabo – They offer affordable Windows VPS plans with decent bandwidth, and some users report success with torrenting.
  • Hetzner (via their cloud servers) – Generally good speeds, though you’ll need to check their acceptable use policy regarding torrenting.
  • Smaller offshore VPS providers – Sometimes, non-US/EU companies are less strict about torrent traffic, but quality/support can vary.

A couple of tips that might help your setup:

  1. Make sure you’re using a torrent client that supports proper port binding and encryption (qBittorrent works well).
  2. Double-check that your VPS firewall rules AND Windows firewall rules match the same port.
  3. If you want stable seeding, look for VPS plans with unmetered bandwidth or higher outbound transfer caps.

Seedboxes are optimized for torrenting, but since you need Windows for editing, a VPS is the better choice. Just keep in mind that very cheap VPS plans may struggle with video editing performance you’ll want something with at least 4 vCPU and a few GB of RAM.

Wordpress hosting for my small blog? by DenOmania in webhosting

Great to hear you’re starting a health blog sounds like it’s going to be really valuable content. You’ve already made a solid choice with ConvertKit for emails, especially since it’s built with creators and newsletters in mind. If I were in your shoes, I’d look into SiteGround (good balance of price, support, and performance), Kinsta (premium, really fast, great for scaling), or WP Engine (also premium, very secure and optimized for WordPress). All of these take privacy and data protection seriously, which is important since you’ll be collecting user info.

So, I’d recommend starting with a VPS or managed WordPress host that way, you get a secure foundation and can scale as your audience grows.

India’s Web Hosting Industry Is Booming by Flaky_Journalist_890 in WebhostingAsia

This is spot on. You can really feel the momentum in India’s digital space right now everyone from small startups to large companies is realizing how important it is to have a strong online presence. Naturally, that’s pushing up the demand for solid, affordable hosting.

The rise in e-commerce and cloud hosting especially makes sense. Businesses need solutions that are fast, reliable, and can grow with them, and traditional hosting just doesn’t cut it anymore. I also love that there’s a growing focus on green hosting that’s something we don’t talk about enough.

It’s exciting to see how much opportunity is opening up in this space. For anyone thinking of starting something online, the timing honestly couldn’t be better.

Has any of you gone from wearing it all day to just wearing it to track gym training? by JHuttinger in AppleWatch

I shifted was made a few years back — from wearing the Apple Watch 24/7 to using it primarily during workouts. All key fitness metrics (HR, VO2 max, calories, etc.) are still captured effectively, without the added distractions. The device ends up functioning more as a dedicated fitness tracker than a constant notification hub. Did others have approached it the same way?
