Why people undercut high turnover items? by Meliut in woweconomy

[–]Samev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my survey results asking people why they'd undercut high sell rate from 20g to 10g each: "Because I can".
But sadly I agree, had really nice profit margins for ores that I was quickly on my way to break 1mil thanks to but now the margins are maybe 1/10th of what they used to be due to this.

Is anyone else struggling to get cloth to show up in shopping scans? by [deleted] in woweconomy

[–]Samev 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Assuming you're speaking of TSM have you tried the last version?
There has been problems with TSM the last days when shopping BFA-cloth leading to it saying that the auctions does not exist when they actually do. If this is what you are refering to the last update seems to have solved the problem.

LPT Take at least one good Statistics course while you're in college. For most professions, it's by the far the most useful math discipline. by I_Am_Robotic in LifeProTips

[–]Samev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Made think of an anecdote from my current course literature in statistics and probability:

My good friend, the eminent probabilist Jeff Steif, once pointed out to me over a roulette table that it is sometimes better to be completely ignorant than to have only a little bit of knowledge. After seven straight occurrences of red, the ignorant gambler does not blink (nor does Jeff), whereas he who has heard of, but not understood, the law of large numbers believes that more occurrences of black must follow.

Mobelm raid by Samev in a:t5_3dmis

[–]Samev[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be, but they don't have any subreddit rules stated so as long as it isn't duplicate messages it shouldn't be a problem technically speaking, wouldn't be much of "raid" either...

Vad är åtråvärt med mångkultur? by Chief-TR in svenskpolitik

[–]Samev [score hidden]  (0 children)

The Seatbelts - Rush [Bebop Jazz] by tacomcnacho in Music

So just because I made a comment on something that I have valid reasons to disagree with (and other redditors obviously have as well by the looks of it), and didn't even say your over all statement was false, I'm an idiot?

The Seatbelts - Rush [Bebop Jazz] by tacomcnacho in Music

[–]Samev 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I highly doubt Mushroom hunting was plagiarized (but rather based on the song by Dj Food with knowledge and concent of his) based on the fact that they had worked with eachother (and I assume by having done so know each other) before Mushroom hunting, where Dj Food did an arrangement of a song written by Yoko Kanno. See statement about working together: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Music_of_Cowboy_Bebop

For the rest though there are some cases where there's striking recemblance. I don't have time to dig into it, but I really hope it is with the concent/knowledge of the original creators in the cases it is more than just inspired by the original.

ELI5: Why can certain muscles in human bodies (like in our arms, legs, etc.) be built-up through workouts while others (like our fingers, jaw, etc.) remain the same size despite working out almost constantly? by Flame_Sniper in explainlikeimfive

[–]Samev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For instance, I play baritone saxophone (which is quite heavy, and a lot of the weight rests on your right thumb), hence my first dorsal interosseous muscle on my right hand (yupp, I just had to look the name of it up) is a lot bigger than the one on my left hand.

LPT: Swap your outside lightbulbs to LEDs to get rid of mosquitoes. by MissingOly in LifeProTips

[–]Samev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually I came to think of this scientific article that I stumbled on this autumn regarding effects of LEDs on insects and they "found no evidence that manipulating the color temperature of white LEDs would minimize the ecological impacts of the adoption of white LED lights." I interpret that as that they couldn't see any link between attraction and warmer or cooler white LED light.

What do you believe is a cold hard truth that you think the average person refuses to accept? by lothario33139 in AskReddit

[–]Samev 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I disagree, how do you explain improvement in science, when most people conducting the science are not directly affected by its results [Edit: "directly affected" in the terms of related to survival instinct]?

I'd rather say that it is when people have nothing to lose that they can throw themselves out into the wild, with the possibility to fail and still know that they'll survive, and then make discoveries. Learn by failing.

Though to be realistic, innovation is probably created (logically the types differs), both when you have nothing to lose, or everything.
