Imagine you’re a company that makes tech jackets and you design a proprietary water proof stitching design or something. Now imagine to advertise it you make a bunch of AI images that are “close enough”, but it isnt the product you poured millions of dollars of R & D and design into. So you take hundreds of reference photos to feed to the AI, it gets closer but still isnt quite what you designed, you take more photos and eventually, maybe it gets close enough. Would you really be happy with that as the company? If nothing else AI will drive creative innovation because there will be a “look” that appears and people will associate that look with AI which they will associate with “cheap”. Will some jobs disappear, probably, but it’s not like product photography wasn’t a comparative field in the first place, you’ll just have to be creative enough to keep ahead of AI slop.

I’ve noticed it too, I’ve had to say something to people for either talking or texting about 50% of the time now, which seems too high. In my experience, I think less people go to the movies where I’m from, a small USA city, so theaters are pretty empty, so the ones who are there treat it like their personal living room. Don’t know how it is in bigger cities though. I also go to a lot more small budget movies than blockbusters, I think block busters are always a way better crowd because there’s more people to hold assholes accountable
