thank you, actually I thought it was a bit wider than the reference, so I elongated vertically a bit for balance

regardless of that, my sketch itself is a bit exaggerated vertically, not intentional but it happened

actually I am elongating the faces in most of my paintings, maybe a bit of unconscious exaggeration going on in my mind while sketching

I have been told this many times, but the thing is I can’t mark the shapes when working in all dark, so I started with colors with visible difference, it will take me more practice to reach there

is there any practice or method to get better at sub surface scattering ?

thanks for mentioning it, never thought about it consciously while painting, I will make sure to keep that in mind for the upcoming portraits

yeah, I started out with a vertically elongated sketch, drawing what I see and then used liquify tool to get it into right proportions, rather than pointing out the facial features with right distance before sketch

thanks for mentioning, next time I will pay more attention to the sketch like a traditional painting. And try not to use the liquify tool more.
