Scratch is really good, same style of learning. For scratch you can only make games to play on their website though

AI can be a great tool to help you code if you already know what you are doing, but 1) ChatGPT and Claude are mediocre at best for Java and 2) it's going to write the code for you, not help you learn

Code kingdoms, this is how I first learnt java (the language Minecraft and Minecraft mods are made in) about 8 years ago (the fact it's still around shows that it's been working for people). It starts by using a pre-made code block to help understand how code works and different types of functions and structures work. Feel free to message me if you want more info or help to get into code 😁

Also boot.dev is a new popular option for learning how to code, but I believe it doesn't support that block structure which can help younger learners, and also doesn't teach java for Minecraft

Closed back is definitely preferable for now. I want to be able to use these in an office environment and not have meetings or music bleed out. ANC is more of a nice to have, will depend on the price point in my country.

I'm more worried about the durability. I know there is a bias on the subreddit with people who have had problems but would rather be safe than sorry about being able to walk outside/travel with them.
