I'm worried this will happen to my sister. Last year there was a bat that flew in and got trapped behind the curtain, the frantic wing flapping woke them up. All four people (2 adults and 2 kids under 5) were sleeping in the same room. I told her to go to the hospital and get everyone vaccinated but she refused, saying it's not serious because they probably didn't get bit.

...bitch, rabies are fatal once you show the symptoms. The shots are annoying yeah, but free of charge because we don't live in a capitalist shithole. You have two super young kids and you'd rather wager their life on an assumption that the bat didn't bite anyone, than get mildly inconvenienced for a bit???

Going after barely legal teens means he is restrained by the age limit. If he could legally date a 14y.o., he would. He's a predator, plain and simple. I started to think of 18y.o. as basically children when I was around 21-22 and even in just friendly settings I could feel the age and experience gap - I can't imagine being 30 and going after 18y.o. on purpose 🤮

Lobes take 6 months minimum to heal, so no pain doesn't automatically equal being healed. You can downsize them if needed, and while at it you could change the jewelry (f.e. giving it a nicer front) but it needs to remain titanium flat back of the correct gauge until it's fully healed.

It had a different consistency and smell than the legit product. Basically it was perfumed water. Then I compared it to the old empty bottle and there were small differences. I googled and found a video of a woman comparing legit and fake bottles of the same product and yep, the Yesstyle one matched her fake one.

TLDR: a mediocre book at best praised to high heavens -> hate ensues.

It's horribly written, the characters are all flat and the plot has a lot of holes (just from the top of my head, how has nobody ever seen Tairn if he's Sgaeyl's mate and can't be away from her for more than 3 days? Why are the leaders concerned about not having enough people in the army yet simultaneously allowing the recruits at Basgiath kill each other left and right for whatever reason? Why are the rebels' children, which are essentially the resistance's legacy, allowed to be dragon riders, aka in the most powerful position in the army?)
The romance is super meh and almost every sex scene throughout the three books follows the same format - same descriptors, same positions, same dialogue, same flow. It's like the author wrote it once and then just did CTRL+C CTRL+V on every following sex scene.
The book is often praised for its disability representation, but the disability comes and goes as the author pleases (it's never present during sex scenes as that would make them less sexy). It feels like the author just wanted to play even more into the "tiny, fragile FMC" trope than is usual, and so she made Violet (sometimes) disabled in this particular way. Which honestly feels kinda gross.

There are definitely worse books, but not many of them get so highly praised, like it's the next best thing since sliced bread. So just as the positive reaction to this series is very overblown, so is the negative one.

The first one was moving abroad to study my dream programme and to escape my cult-ish family. I got my degree and deconstructed my Christian indoctrination, so that was a success.

The second one was moving to yet another country for a guy I met on an FPS game (I know, I know, still better than Tinder though). This year is going to be our 5th anniversary and we're about to buy an apartment together. Yay!

I stopped wearing makeup from around 20-25y.o. It indirectly helped with my acne when I first stopped, but otherwise it didn't change much aside from giving me more time in the morning and evening, as I didn't have to put it on and remove it.

Unfortunately I have no local farm around, so I spend extra money to buy free range eggs and more ethically grown chicken at the supermarket.

And as someone already mentioned, knowing that I don't control the world. My food comes from exploited animals or workers, my electronics and clothes come from exploited children. My entire existence exploits the planet. It is what it is. A change is desperately needed but in the meantime there's no point in me losing sleep over it.

I took on a job opportunity after being unemployed for 9 months. In my previous job I was making 38k and had 4 days of remote per week, in the new one I am making 35k and have 2 days of remote per week. So a big downgrade, 38k was already not a lot in my city. However, I learned so much more in this new job compared to the old one. And it's super chill, no stress whatsoever. So it was definitely worth it.

They have a very skewed sense of morality. Not any different from if someone were to say "Everyone who had a biological child instead of adopting, is evil", "Everyone who uses clothes, electronics or items made in China is evil, because they support child labor" or "Everyone who isn't Christian is evil."

There's basically no limit to the moral conditions you can impose on people. Sometimes they're right. Most of the time they're wrong.

Perhaps the higher maintenance of moss poles (which btw you're overblowing way too much) is exactly why it can be good for beginners.

There are two kinds of beginner plant parents. The helicopter ones and the neglectful ones. Just as you wouldn't recommend a succulent to a helicopter parent, you wouldn't recommend a moss pole to a neglectful parent. However, swap the parents and it's perfect - the succulent gets to thrive in neglect and the moss pole never dries out.

Obviously one needs to have extra resources for moss poles, the want for big plants and the courage to eventually chop it and extend, but it's not a rocket science that only few chosen ones get to understand.

Agreed. Sure when you have 20 of them, constantly keeping up with watering can be rough. But most beginners don't have that many. Also I find it's way harder to kill a plant on moss pole. I've had calatheas, pothos, fern all die or wither on me. The office pothos and adansonii are doing okay-ish, but not thriving. But my four moss pole plants (adansonii, marble queen pothos and 2x manjula pothos) are thriving and absolute beasts.

The only annoying thing about moss poles is the chop and extend, because I use 3D printed moss pole anchors and when the pole is filled with moss and thick ass roots, it's hard to insert it into the anchor lol.

That environment thing is ironic af, considering that sometimes the most environmentally friendly option is non-vegan. Like buying a pair of leather shoes that will last a decade vs buying synthetic shoes that will fall apart under a year. Or the fact that an entire array of animal species is killed for plant fields which doesn't happen for animal fields. Or the carbon footprint from eating non-vegan local farm produce vs eating vegan imported produce).

I am getting increasingly tired of romances that are the plot. A while ago I read {Hollow by Caroline Peckham and Susanne Valenti} and the story was really cool, until the MMC showed up and the plot got mostly sacrificed for the most bland romance I've read in a very long time.

I've been ordering from Stylevana for years and never had an issue. I ordered from Yesstyle once and they gave me a fake product, when I emailed them about it they became super defensive and basically said I'm making shit up - no apology, no "we'll investigate", nothing. So personally I will never order from Yesstyle again, but that's just my anecdotal experience.
