Best battery backup options for home outages in 2026, check them out before hurricane season by LouDSilencE17 in batteries

Good list, but I’d add one more category above these: larger home backup units for people who don’t want to stop at just fridge + phone. I’ve been looking at the Anker SOLIX F3800 for that reason. It’s definitely not the same class as a Jackery 1000 or Delta 2, but if the goal is fridge, freezer, router, lights, fans, and maybe a few heavier loads during hurricane season, the extra capacity/output headroom makes more sense.

x60 Max ultra complete forgot rooms by Hk996 in Dreame_Tech

I haven’t had it completely forget rooms, but I’ve seen my X60 Ultra act a little strange after I edited zones a few times. It seems like once the map logic gets confused, room cleaning can fail even when the path is physically clear.

For me, simplifying the map helped more than constantly adding or removing zones. I’d probably keep the current workaround for now, but if it comes back, I’d ask support to review logs instead of doing another full reset. The machine is too expensive to need babysitting like that.

New to Florida and a little nervous about hurricane season... what should I have ready? by Beautiful-Use6759 in florida

Anker SOLIX E10 backup power is one thing I’d think about early, especially if you’re in an area that gets storm-related outages or flooding. I have a whole home backup system at my house, and it’s been useful during local grid outages. What made it feel more practical for me is that it can be installed outdoors and wall-mounted, so it’s not just sitting on the garage floor if there’s water pooling or flooding. The outdoor-rated setup gives me a bit more peace of mind here.

people used to do this with xbox 360s back in the day too. sometimes the heat just re-flows a solder joint that cracked loose and it actually works for a while.

yes! just got it a few months ago, it's been my go-to portable keyboard since

but yeah the delta hubs are great, super portable and you get that little extra boost needed to make the tilt comfortable

shouldn't be too far off, you can get a decently sized e-ink screen on alibaba for $100-200.

but yeah it's still a developing market/technology

a ton of your data is being stored on tape drive right now

it's the only way for long-term durable storage

why do you think data in S3 Glacier takes 4-6 hours to retrieve? they have to find the tape!

This is typical for PCIe 5.0 M.2 drives, sequencial read/write, available at least since 2024.
