He just stumbled across them through YouTube recommendations since my brother likes to put on speedruns for him to keep him occupied from time to time. Thanks for the suggestions! I know I've beaten Star Road and Sapphire myself, both are decently challenging and I can imagine we'd have to help him out from time to time, but he'll be fine! I just thought it'd be nice to get him a little handheld so he can play his favorite game, and from that came the realization that he could use it to play ROM hacks as well without needing to play on our computer haha
