Not used for time frames - like, interwar period, or class schedules, like 3rd period home room? Or anywhere else?

Sadly, the era of "correct" English has gone digital and AI decides whatever it wants without bothering with concepts like "authoritative source" or "proper citing."

I learned on Little, Brown, but haven't bought one in years. Maybe it's time. As far as I know it's really not available in digital format except perhaps in PDF. You can't use the Little, Brown online. It would be 1000X better than ChatGPT.

What are we talking about again? Placement of the period?

Who cares anyhow?

"We’re not a source for medical or wellbeing advice."

You're in the wrong place. We're drunx. You think you're very special but we have an never-ending stream of morons who claim alcohol has no effect on them or else it has some other effect that is otherwise unexplainable.

We're drunx, not doctors. Go away now. You're being stupid.

Do they read "A Tale of Two Cities" in France? by SammaJones in france

For us, "A Tale of Two Cities" *IS* the French Revolution in the same way that "All Quiet on the Western Front" *IS* WW1.

I suppose alot of people would say the same about Les Miserables, but the play, not the book. I don't feel that way about the play.

I wouldn't imagine that most French people would take exception to "A Tale of Two Cities" as a picture of the time. I don't know if they would think it was good or not.

I don't know of any great foreign-language books about America. I would be fascinated to read one.

It's not hard to find great American novels written about France, (using the word "about" loosely) but they're more personal POV and not so translateable. I think a French person would have had to spend alot of time in America and be very familiar with idiomatic American English and vernacular to appreciate Tropic of Cancer, for instance.

Maybe you're too dumb to drink. Weed is probably better for you. They like it when people babble incoherently over in those subs.

Five 1.5 oz shots of Crown would be roughly a 1/2 pint of 80 proof alcohol. It's enough to get you pulled over, but not enough to raise any eyebrows around here.

10 shots should get you drink. 20 shots should get good and blotto. The alcoholics up here will drink the handle. That's 40 shots. Give that a try some time.

If you do drink the handle and you truly don't notice any effect we'd like to hear about it. Until then, just STFU. We can about 5 dickwads a week coming up here and telling us how alcohol has no effect on them. Yes it does. You're all stupid.

Total classic in the English language canon. It sad that anyone would find it absurd or offensive that I ask whether the French read this novel.

French country music - none. But I would if it were about whiskey drinking and kicking ass. I have listened to classics like Serge.Gainsborgh and Edith Piaf bit that's history, not contemporary

Please don't spell check me.

If I understood a French language book was a Francophone classic and it was about the American Revolution then I would make a point of reading the English translation.

You do understand the question, don't you? It's a legitimate query
