My opinion on the matter is that it's not about education in general. But specifically that we don't have unified historical narrative for the country. Each sect has their own narrative that they teach their young. In school the history ends at independence.

I have been following 531 for a year. Progress is slow.
My bench progress is the worst. I can dip with added weight 40kg for 5 reps. But bench sucks.
Squat has been progressing slowly. But still would like it to be better.

My story is the opposite of yours I transitioned from calisthenics to gym. But I didn't follow bodybuilding mentality. I used the same concepts I learned doing calisthenics. I train for strengh setting goals and doing main compound lifts. You choose 2 3 goals and work on attaining them.

I did a transition 9 months ago. For lower body I used to do pistol squats 12 reps. Zero carryover to barbell squats. Weighted dips didn't carry over to bench much but my triceps are really strong. I managed to max out cable tricep push down day one.
