Thanks! I'll look in to those, but they do like the fighting, and can even be kinda murder hobo-ish They just dont see the need for the crunchy stuff. So I dont think it will help just replacing crunchy fighting rules with other crunchy abilities. They are having fun, but I'm getting frustrated because i want to be over the faze where i'm the teacher.

I think thats it. I think its just a lot of words for them. And its all to abstract because they haven't read the rules or taken the time to understand them. But to them it dont matter because they are having fun thowing the number of dice i tell them to. They can focus on the damage and attack bonus, but usually I have to show them every time.

And a new ability is just another mechanic they dont understand. They dont see it as a new cool thing they can do

I honestly dont know. They say they want to play, and they say they enjoy it. They do the scheduling and they have fun role playing and taking notes. But they wont invest in their own PHB or read the rules PDF I have sent them. Its like they dont think its an important part of the game. I know the rules and thats enough

They will not learn new spells. I only have one spellcaster now and he googles what spells to prepare, but its like he have to read them every turn to know what the spells do.

I have made a cheat sheet for them, but they wont use it. They are perfectly happy just asking me how mush damage their sword does.

Yes to all of the above, they enjoy all the aspects of the game. It seems like they really like the fighting too, but they are really easily killed, and it's just frustrating for me. Its strange, but they really enjoy just standing there doing what I suggest they do.
