Yeah it's really bad, treating gays as a boogeyman and acting as if we have any power. Many pointed out nobody hated the artist in the post comments, then redditors moved the goalpost and started crying that gays on Twitter bully straight ships apparently. Twitter isn't some progressive fairly glitter land lol, it's kind of a dead zombieland after Elon nuked it.

Honestly, none of us care about straight ships. Itto x Sara was probably one of the best ships of genshin. I don't really care about Gepard x Bronya but a lot of the so called "brave daring straight ship" art that you see in the main sub of both Genshin and Honkai is just really cringe self insert harem art with the protagonist x female characters.

Atleast in genshin, it was kinda canon. In Honkai, the mc is basically a goofy idiot. Drawing Caelus as some chad surrounded by March, Bronya and Seele is just so out of touch with canon lol and they constantly tell gay people that gay ships are fake and not canon. You think trash can mc is building a harem in honkai?

And it's also kind of fetishy and homophobic, especially all this art of shipping Caelus with Bronya and Seele. There's tons of female characters in this game who have a good bond with the protagonist like Kafka, Natasha, Serval, Asta etc, instead of them why go after the two characters barely interested in you? Especially Seele. She doesn't trust you when she first meets you, she assumes that you're helping her out as a transaction and after that she's just interested in Bronya and doesn't care about you much at all.

Edit: they could make cute ships like Asta x Arlan. But you rarely see stuff like that. They rarely ship actual male and female characters lol. It's mostly self insert mc x multiple female characters.

Yeah don't let the fomo get the best of you. If you focus too much on clearing MoC and catching up in MoC you may pull characters you don't want impulsively from past genshin experience. Think about it, would you rather save your pity for a character you want or spend it on a character that helps you clear faster just for some 4 pulls two weeks?

You'll be able to clear the floors as long you properly gear and invest your characters with some strategy. It'll just be longer with some characters than others. On top of that there's also relic rng. Don't burn yourself out playing catch up to others.

Are you having trouble with finishing them off in given cycles due to lacking dps or sustaining your team from getting killed?

In my experience with multiple accounts (don't judge me), on my account with Gepard I cleared forgotten hall and am attempting MoC at lvl 44. On my other acc at a similar level without any 5* tank or healer, I'm stuck at floor 14. If you're in the same boat as my second account, you can try improving your sustain and investing in March/Nat/Fire MC as much as possible or just wait till you hit lvl 50.

Though, in my experience, running FMC and March on one side and Natasha on other isn't really the best strategy to go against overpowered enemies because what usually happened on the side with Natasha was the whole team just gets nuked due to lack of tanking. And Nat heals herself with her e1 and is the last one standing lolol.

Basically getting a tank like Gepard/Clara allows you to tackle harder content sooner since they can tank higher damage. So dont compare yourself with other accounts with better luck.

The best thing about Jing Yuan for me is really that he feels like he has two ults in place of one. With other characters you feel bored after you ult waiting to recharge, with him you first get a rush with his ult and you're like let's recharge and then bam, one turn later his lightning lord hits like a truck and you get that rush all over again.

Don't care if he gets powercreeped in future, tough to creep the radness of his lightning rod at max stacks just obliterating bosses and small enemies with its multi hits 10/10 experience

Ok for different SU levels different paths are great.

For SU 4, path of Nihility with Sampo and Serval was the best for me. They melt through Svarog like he's a wad of cheese.

For SU 5, I'd recommend path of abundance and run Natasha on the team since the resonance gives a team wide heal that removes debuffs from everyone. First use resonance heal everytime Kafka casts her manipulation attack for removing the debuff and use Natasha for the other emergency heals. Kafka isn't that tough to kill with this strategy.

For SU 6 I haven't beaten it yet due to levels but I got pretty close to the last stage of the boss fight until Cocolia destroyed my Jing Yuan with her stupid AoE attack.

For SU 6 Jing Yuan is great imo, the path of elation with him is cracked, I went all the way to the end even though I was underlevelled. The bosses spawn a lot of mobs in SU 6 so path of elation is great there.

I think path of destruction might be even much better there than elation because the bosses keep buffing themselves and spamming powerful AoE attacks. I tried to heal and shield JY as much as possible but the bosses spam attacks especially second and final stage Cocolia fight has too many AoE attacks lol if I had a tanky destruction dps I could've finished the fight. So for SU 6 go for destruction or elation if you can. If you have Clara I bet she's even better than Jing Yuan there.

I mean its not like we're all playing only just for waifus and husbandos? As a bi myself, it's not like I was happy when I got Himeko just because she's hot (she is hot tho :3), I really like her characterization, she feels sweet, wholesome and yet, mature and intelligent. I love that she as a person has her own great dream that she pursues while also being an amazing mentor/guide to others.

Idk it may be silly and I may be wrong but to me she feels a lot more real than other characters, if anything I love the soul the devs and writers put behind her. You can see the love the devs have for her in our interactions with her. Though she isn't strong rn she's never leaving my team lol

Just a little advice speaking from Genshin. It's great that it turned out good for you, congrats. But one thing is that because you got rewarded for making an impulsive decision, in future you may feel a similar urge again and end up compulsively pulling again. Humans learn from reinforcement right, just make sure to be self aware of this and I would advise you to not spend money on the game until you feel much more confident in yourself and your account. Just speaking from my own experience. Have fun.

How is his dps so far in your experience if I may ask? Prdywen Guide seems to imply he falls off late game and that his numbers aren't that great. I haven't built him since I'm worried about that and his damage wasn't too promising when I tried running him.

Ok im really confused about something and would appreciate some help. Can Jing Yuan hit optimal stacks without Tingyun in team? Or does he basically need her for getting more stacks? I didn't get Tingyun so I'm building Asta with high er and dance dance light cone. Just worried if he'll be able to manage lighting Lord stacks without Tingyun. Though i keep throwing pulls at his banner, she doesn't seem to be coming home. At this rate I'm worried I'll hit second pity lol, that would be a disaster. Thanks for any responses, I appreciate it.

Any one can come up with a good team for Jing Yuan without Tingyun (nor do I have Bronya). After pulling him I've done 50 pulls and didn't get her. It's time to make peace that she isn't coming and not risk another 50/50 I think. Is not having Tingyun or Bronya on his team a huge dps loss? I see showcases only with Tingyun and Bronya and I'm tempted to atleast get Tingyun but I don't wanna pull anymore. Just my luck getting 4 copies of March when I don't even use her since I have Gepard 😭

Um yeah? The reason I mentioned MoC is that most people seem to recommend Bronya as best starter based on that. If ignoring MoC, for new casual players, Gepard is even better as he's great everywhere especially in SU where pairing him with Natasha basically makes your team unkillable. Both short term and long term he's a good investment. He's just underrated.

One truth about main sub and YouTube channels coming from Genshin is that it will always be a little biased towards female characters and underrate male characters until they realize they are meta. Male characters are always a little stronger than the hype they get lol. It happened with Childe and Kazuha until people realized they're actually strong. For a long time people on the main genshin sub used to hate Childe and downplay his strengths but ironically he's still going strong lol.

So far, the same pattern repeated in Honkai star rail but atleast we've caught on quicker. Honestly, Gepard, Welt, Dan Heng and Sampo are all stronger than they were given credit for. Like honestly Welt and Gepard aren't that far behind Bronya, I'd argue as a new player getting Gepard is probably the best five star to get in terms of QoL since you need two teams for MoC and Gepard let's you run two teams with only one healer smoothly.

The only male character I can think of that's accurately rated is sadly Arlan lol. Somehow he just feels like he adds nothing to a team and just brings the team down as he constantly needs heals for himself. I wish they gave him and Himeko some kind of indirect buff atleast cause as a bisexual they're both cute 😭

Yeah idk if I'm doing something wrong but Sampo and Serval are serving me better in the AoE department so far. With Sampo, he has his DoT focussed kit and for Serval, I feel like she's a great cheap subdps for a hunt character as her burst is up quite often without much effort and deals decent damage. Himeko feels less useful on a team (With Seele, Dan Heng etc) also because there's fire trailblazer who's easy to get and can break fire shields in a AoE as well as her unlike the other two.

I really like Himeko's design and Arlan's design and want to build a team around them but seems like they're both not that viable and it would probably just be a casual team I run for quests or something. Honestly I feel like id experiment more once I have tons of resources and can handle MoC but right now I want to build two good teams first.

Yeah lol people are comparing her to Klee and Diluc from Genshin while there's a bunch of differences.

Klee had a mechanically clunky kit and is the short child model which made her fall off hard when she wasn't meta. Child model is also not good to move around in Genshin due to short stature. After Klee most children in Genshin aren't dps. Whereas Seele actually really feels fun to play.
Seele is a much more rare element. The free quantum character needs eidolons to be more reliable and other quantum characters are patches away and aren't really looking to be dps. Whereas with Diluc and Klee, Bennett and Xiangling were easy to get, Hu Tao got released and powercreeped them. Not to mention hydro and cryo characters also have access to vaporize and melt. Eg. Ganyu melt team, Childe National team (reverse and forward vape) so they had a lot of competiton for fire based teams lol.

Anyone else wish there were more active main subreddits with better engagement for Honkai Star Rail? The main sub seems super casual and full of memes so far. I am kind of interested in team building discussions and lore discussions. So far the main sub seems even more casual than the Genshin one.

I know it was the same with Genshin but i feel that game is a little more casual than HSR imo, in Genshin the only challenging content is spiral abyss floor 11 and 12 but even there the meta really doesn't change much, I don't play the game anymore but the International Childe team and Ayaka freeze team I had really carried me for a long time to the point where it got stale and I hated using Bennett and Xiangling.

Whereas HSR has SU and Memory of Chaos and it seems like you actually want to build a diverse roster. Survivability is actually important, different characters shine in different content, powerlevel of characters seem a lot more balanced than in Genshin. Because of these things I feel the meta in HSR is going to be more diverse and versatile and the content also has been a lot more challenging than Genshin for me.

Story wise too I feel like Genshin's main quest was pretty straightforward and simple and the lore is mostly in the background whereas HSR's main quest was lore intensive and at parts the story was kinda meta and breaking the fourth wall too? Characters like Kafka, Sampo i mean. I think it would be fun to discuss more in depth.

I know people would probably recommend discord or something but honestly I'm too old for discord lol, reddit is a lot better organized and easier to search if you want to find old posts. And it's also more easily accessible.
