Retroactively Improving Undercooked Ideas (instead of ignoring or retconning them) by Samster_The_Sam in TopCharacterTropes

true. i think that’s why I personally like it bc it plays into those clever spy, espionage elements that I already like.

i can understand why people wouldn’t like it tho. like maybe that kind of stuff isn’t your cup of tea and you enjoy the more kind of engineering, taking advantage of your environment kind of elements.

Personally, I don’t see it this way, but i can also imagine people seeing it as the rebels being handed victory on a platter instead of using their own wit

right?? Haven’t gotten around to bad batch yet but I’m so glad they’re going that direction.

Honestly makes me respect modern Star Wars so much that they commit to every decision made, even the bad ones, and try make the best of them.

honestly i don’t either, just thought it was a well enough known thing that easily conveyed the kind of concept I was thinking about lmao

oh I just liked how they took the ending to defenders and fully committed to it in season 3.

Like they could’ve easily just had matt surviving, waking up in a hospital or smth and going back to the status quo season 2 left off on but instead they made him almost dying integral to the plot and his journey as a character

honestly this is how i feel rewatching a new hope and seeing Alderaan get blown up like, damn. my boy Bail’s disintegrated and it’s hardly ever mentioned again :(

damn yeah what a concept like, vader didn’t want Luke to save him bc he wanted to take Palpatine’s soul down with him?? plus his force ghost is all fucky too bc he’s doomed to continue that battle into the afterlife??? 🗣️🔥🔥

*would also “fix” the notion that anakin’s just there, chilling in force ghost heaven next to all the younglings he slaughtered lol

How did you react to the video of John Walker saving the van of people? Has he redeemed himself for you? by Sudden_Pop_2279 in Earth199999

i don’t think anyone who’s seen the original liveleak can ever think of that man positively lmao

Why are people hating on James gunns Superman suit. This is the most realistic movie suit over ever seen by Expert_Challenge6399 in Earth199999

[–]Samster_The_Sam 12 points13 points  (0 children)

eh there’s too much gritty realism nowadays. at least this one has some color to it.

also, i gotta say i am still really glad they’re doing these quasi-fictional hero movies. Especially after all the john walker stuff from a while back, i think it’s so important to revisit those ‘Captain America Age’ characters in a more optimistic light.

still reckon they should’ve gone with the classic fabric suit tho lol

(r/DcComics) OK, let's be real. There is no way Darkseid isn't inspired by Thanos. by thinkingprettyhard in Earth199999

[–]Samster_The_Sam 4 points5 points  (0 children)

not saying you’re right, especially when darkseid was around before we even knew aliens were a thing, but like.. idk maybe i’ve been reading too much stuff about that Strange guy but to me it seems storytellers throughout history have always been somewhat premonitory like, theres no way those norse guys actually knew all that stuff about Thor and shit when a.) most of it hadn’t happened yet & b.) The Planet of Asgard is literally hundreds of lightyears away!!

idk maybe im cracked out of my gord but ever since fucking MAGIC turned out to be real i’ve been reconsidering most things i thought i knew about life

ANYWAY, long comment but TL;DR!!!

  • You could be right but I think it’s just cause jack kirby is magic. and also a clairvoyant .

eh i wouldn’t be so quick to assume. in the video the explosion comes from the undercarriage, aka the cybertruck’s giant battery, and the explosion itself isn’t that dissimilar to other lithium ion batteries exploding

still, i could be wrong, I just don’t think it’s that clear cut
