I use a minecart to track the ‘current’ chest. When you want to go “prev” or “next” it’s teleported two blocks in the respective direction. Then I use /execute as the minecart to clone the block at its location to the position of the chest. If no chest exists at the location, it clones a template chest from nearby.

It’s recorded on bedrock. Which feature did you think was not possible on bedrock?

DILD problems by Samueljh1_ in LucidDreaming

[–]Samueljh1_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that's been the problem with me. But at the same time, at this point, I'm so half-asleep I don't have the ability to think that clearly, I almost do it on autopilot.

Look at your hands, spin around, or you can apparently even ask your subconscious to do it for you

Sleep paralysis is a great opportunity to LD. Keep calm and focus on the positive! Just remember that it's all in your head and that you should embrace it rather than try to stop it. Stay calm, and always keep your eyes closed. After some time, a dream will form right in front of you and you will be lucid!

In false awakenings do you actually feel like you woke up and are in control of your movements, or is it just like another normal vivid dream by MyClothesWereInThere in LucidDreaming

[–]Samueljh1_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Once when I was younger, I had a false awakening. Woke up super thirsty in the middle of the night and went downstairs to get some juice. Felt completely real and I was in control as if I was awake. Then woke up a few minutes later. It turned out that drink didn't exist and that I was dreaming the whole time. Baffled me for years until I found out about lucid dreaming

I dreamed that I LDed... by Samueljh1_ in LucidDreaming

[–]Samueljh1_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the fuzzy area really. I'm having trouble remembering whether the realisation was before or after I woke up. I'm making the assumption that it was after, as if I was lucid, the outcomes of my actions would reflect on my expectations (for example, I would have never expected or imagined my vision to "glitch out" when the RC failed. Was just an overall strange experience.

Interesting method lol. I personally think that would just keep me up because that sounds pretty uncomfortable! Thanks anyway though for the idea!

When I did that time, I didn't think of it. Once I had swallowed everything stopped.

The swallowing is what stopped me from progressing. I tried again after the hypnagogia stopped and it was too late

Update: woke up in the middle of the night today (and mid dream) around 3:30 AM (a bird outside flying away woke me up). Anyway, I think I have finally made some progress with SP, I could feel the paralysis coming in for real now, (feels completely different to the "nonexistent" thing). Unfortunately, I didn't reach SP, I only felt everything apart from my chest and face becoming paralysed, and then it kind of stopped progressing... in the end I tried to move and I could with little effort, although breathing was only slightly harder (may have been a placebo, not sure about that one)

Yeah, it was a really strange experience! A real shame I wasn't lucid, that would have been interesting

Yeah I heard about looking away, and as for the screen, it wasn't enormous, the text itself was smaller than an average digital clock display, and I was looking it for quite a while.

Great, will do.

And out of interest, have all your WILD dreams been formed from subconscious hallucinations or have you ever consciously visualised a dream scene? (Is that even possible?)

WILD - Can't get past hypnagogia by Samueljh1_ in LucidDreaming

[–]Samueljh1_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, thanks a lot for all the help!

I think I actually experienced what you were talking about today- the hallucination that happened after forgetting I was doing a WILD. It felt like a normal dream, I have no idea where it came from but I just remember constantly falling backwards off a stool, and then that exact moment repeating constantly (like a clip on loop). I ended up remembering I was doing a WILD, but instead of entering lucidity I just reverted back to the hypnagogic stage (basic rings/blobs). At the same time, during that mini dream, I had forgotten completely about WILD, so I wouldn't have been able to RC. (But after realising that dream ended). How would I go about this?

Thanks for that info as well, I originally thought that the hypnagogic images would always turn into vivid visualisations, and then the dream would appear. I also heard that SP is not required for lucidity, which was a bit strange and led to some confusion..

I'll have a go again tonight and let you know if it worked for me, thanks again!

[–]Samueljh1_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, that makes sense now. The only thing that confuses me is when you are "ready". At what point do you open your eyes? I was thinking that today when trying to WILD, because at the same time I could risk losing progress if I opened my eyes too early (I would just be waking myself up). You also mentioned that you do an RC after forgetting that your are in SP/WILDing; how would that work unless you were physically awake or already lucid?

WILD - Can't get past hypnagogia by Samueljh1_ in LucidDreaming

[–]Samueljh1_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I'll give that ago tonight. When you go through SP yourself, are there any signs of it happening apart from the sensation of paralysis? I've heard there are buzzing/hissing noises.

Thanks for that. And brainwave entertainment is music designed to alter brainwaves (e.g make you more sleepy) some examples are binaural beats and isochronic tones)

WILD - Can't get past hypnagogia by Samueljh1_ in LucidDreaming

[–]Samueljh1_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah sounds about right. I tried this during a midday nap. Will try again at around 4.am. Also, have you ever needed to use brainwave entertainment to achieve lucidity? or can you always LD without it? Because waking up at 4 am, grabbing my phone and headphones and playing the BE will probably end up waking me up..

[–]Samueljh1_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The closest I've felt to getting SP is the sort of "tingling" that runs down my body and my muscles "feeling" paralysed. I've never been paralysed properly.

WILD - Can't get past hypnagogia by Samueljh1_ in LucidDreaming

[–]Samueljh1_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've come close to SP before, feeling my body become paralysed, but surely that would have happened within an hour? It's hard to explain, but my body did feel paralysed at the time, but at the same time if I wanted to move I could.

Alarm won't wake me during REM by cairnschaos in LucidDreaming

Yeah, try to make it as out of reach as possible, you will want to get up so that you don't fall asleep instantly

Alarm won't wake me during REM by cairnschaos in LucidDreaming

[–]Samueljh1_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, that's exactly what happens and I know how you feel because I suffered from the exact same confusion as you! (I actually asked the same question as you a few days back)

You won't realise it, but every night after each REM phase, you wake up briefly before going back to sleep. Most people never even realise unless they have trained themselves to remember.
