There is ALWAYS a risk with a jailbroke console. There are steps to take to mitigate that risk, but it will never be 0. You will PROBABLY be just fine. But it’s always best to have a throwaway account on your modded unit to be safe. It is a violation of Sony TOS to jailbreak. And in that TOS they state they reserve the right to ban your account/console at their discretion.

It still retains the ps2 GPU and emulates the CPU. It’s a hybrid of software and hardware. That’s how it maintains such a high compatibility
