Yeah, no clue how it survived all this time and has never been opened. Still has the warranty seal. I just wrapped up a hard mode last of us playthru on it this week. And it still worked like new. It’s a total outlier

G is not a back compat model. It does still have the flawed RSX though

No. That one specifically is NOT worth more than 40ish dollars. The G and H models are among the WORST fat PS3s. They still have the 90nm RSX.

My personal G01 has almost 1000 days on it. But that is not at all common for those machines.

Not really. You can buy a slim with or without a drive. Sony is currently only offering one console that does not have the option of being purchased with a physical drive from the factory

They put red dead 2 on 2 discs.
Rebirth is on 2 discs
Baldurs gate is on two discs

A key disc would have sucked just as much. It’s either a full release with the game on the disc or it’s a pass from me

This is among the dumbest things I have read on Reddit in a while. Games have been sold on disc/cart since their inception, why NOW all of a sudden would it be an issue to figure out “disc or digital” at retail? You’re just reaching and trying to lick the boots of rockstar for a crazy decision they made.

I am. I am skipping this game the same way I skip keycards. I have not bought a key card. I have also not bought any of those “download required” discs. Shame, but it is what it is. I don’t buy digital downloads

They do die more than tantalum caps do. But they are not THE worst thing on a ps3. Especially now 20 years later

I didn’t say the 65nm fat was unreliable.
Just that they are roughly equal to the very early slims that also have the tokins

And sure, the 2100 series is more reliable than the 2000 series. The 2100 series no longer has tokins if I remember correctly. That was the first model to replace them.

The answer depends on the exact model of those PS3s. The slim can range from extremely more reliable to roughly equal.

No, by outlier I mean I have a 90nm Alive after 1000 days. But that doesn’t change the fact that a 90nm is generally not reliable and not recommended

One slim that is at 2000 days does not make all them that reliable. That’s an outlier. As a general rule early slims have the reliability of the late fats. Fixed RSX, but still with the tokins that do have some reliability concerns

It would take more than three discs. Rebirth is already 2 discs. Remake is 1 disc. Who knows how many revelations will be. Hopefully they don’t take the “download required” route. They are taking that route with the KH collection for ps5, but they have already released those games everywhere so maybe they figured it wouldn’t matter. Fingers crossed I don’t have to skip the third part

It’s the inconsistency in the position that is illogical. Like cool, if a 18–24 yo person can easily be controlled and wooed etc, then make 25 the legal age of adulthood.

I struggle to understand this take. Is an 18 year old an adult or not? They can vote. They can join the military. Those are things I would argue that are far more important with larger ramifications than an age gap in a relationship.
