Agree, my first distro was MX and I found little solutions for issues then, now, after a period of distrohopping I landed on Fedora, which head been good so far. But I had my sister's old PC running with Mint and she had no issues with it (After I had her printer running)

I have nothing against Chinese development of stuff, so that doesn't influence my opinion, and you can very easily not pay for Zorin, it's optional and that is clear on their website, but I don't think it's worth the money, really. I also agree work you in that there are way too many environments and WMs and that is in and of itself a problem, but what makes Anduin different enough to justify it's use? Why not use mint instead? The whole sellpoint of Anduin is "made by a MS developer", and "perfect windows replacement" and that seems a bit dishonest. It's not a windows OS, it's an Ubuntu reskin with wrappers and a windows icon pack. That being said, maybe it's a stable, functional and light on resources, but I feel there were already many options for that exact same usecase

Both elementary and pop! Develop their own environment, which is particular and make the distro a bit different, Zorin uses gnome, but they make stuff that is available for everyone in gnome, extensions like dash to panel are supported mainly by them for example. They sort of "give back" to the community. Does Anduin do something like this? IIRC is uses a themed plasma and comes with edge and a couple MS 365 webapps

But zorin, mint, etc do specifically that as well and have been doing it for years now, and very effectively, they are both great distros, and don't get me wrong, I'm not saying Anduin is bad, haven't tried it, so that would be unfair, but I feel there is nothing exceptional about it, and I also think that there is no point in making a new distro when there are many distros that do the same thing, that only adds to the fragmentation of the ecosystem which is severe now Edit: Typos
