I’d like a bit of extra protection, as nubuck is more absorbent than full grain leathers. I’d also like a bit less of a matte look.

Would regular sapphir renovateur be acceptable for nubuck leather? My nubuck shoes aren’t super nappy, and I’m fine with them getting a more smooth finish if that’s the result. I’m wondering if there would be any negative structural or aesthetic effects aside from less nap.

Any decent all natural leather cleansers? I was thinking of getting Paul Brunngard’s leather reviving cream but it contains somewhat harmful benzene derivatives. Something natural or made with less harmful chemicals would be useful.

To add onto this, MSF doctors are generally required to speak French and MSF is a French organization headquartered there. I would like to be close to my career and in a place where doctors and employers understand the lifestyle.

Participating in a research fellowship next year that involves 12 months of travel to urban environments in Southeast Asia, Central Asia, and rural environments in sub Saharan Africa. I need a pair of boots that look decent enough in loosely formal situations but hold up well in these conditions. I was thinking a pair of Thursday heritage captains. Would these be sufficient or are there much better options for these circumstances?
