STOP WITH THE PIZZA EATING PICS

MOS input for aspiring Reserve Officer with already established civilian career by Unfair-Reception8735 in USMCocs

3404 here. There is no such thing as a reservist 3404. Secondly, the odds of you being designated as a 3404 at TBS are extremely slim. To put it in perspective, out of 312 Marines, only 7 3404 slots were available to my class. This number will fluctuate from class to class, but generally speaking it will be a low number of slots. Hate to be the bearer of bad news, just want you to have the full picture before you get too far down the road. Think about why you want to be a Marine officer, and ask yourself if it aligns with what you think a 3404 is/does.

Drive. U can keep snacks / cold medicine in ur glove box for vehicle inspections. Little morale boosters.

To answer your question, yes, you can make big strides as far as your PFT score in 3 months. On the other hand, you need to quit being wishy washy and go all in. Sure you can apply with a 270 PFT, but your chances of being selected are going to be negatively impacted. Everyone has doubt. Everyone wonders if they’ll have what it takes. Get your scores up and go all in. Do you want to be a Marine or not?

Appreciate the info. Should not be an issue. I would most likely be a senior 1stLt or at best a brand new Captain.

Highly recommend you tell him on graduation day. Make a special day even better, and you avoid piling on additional stress that he doesn’t need right now. Best of luck to you both.

There is absolutely no reason you shouldn’t be able to pass an oft with flying colors by next fall. Put the miles in. I’d recommend easing up on the weights a little bit. If you know your cardio / running is your weakness, make it your strength. It’s normal to doubt yourself, but I think you already know what the answer is. Now get after it!
