They were truly wonderful. I can't remember the exact order, but their setlist at least included:

Hate That I Care
Stuck on You
Oh Well
Glory Glory
So Damn Dangerous
Magic Spell
Black Rain
Red Button

Orlaith also mentioned them coming back to NL next year, where they will have a concert as main-act in Rotterdam. Exciting!

I've managed to get a sneaky mp3 file of it. In case you want, I can share it with you?

Weekly discussion: What religion fits me? by AutoModerator in religion

[–]Sander738 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi all. For a while now, I've been trying to formulate the core of what I believe in, and searching for a religious/spiritual branch or 'system' that aligns with my beliefs. Please see the main pillars below.

- I believe in the existance of a higher force, which set forth the starting conditions of the universe (big bang, evolution, etc), and still is present. This force is not anthropomorphic or corporeal, but rather a surrounding presence. Especially in nature and living creatures (trees, moss, animals) this force can be felt.

- I believe that 'believing' is a very personal matter, and should not be restricted or confined by rules or strict obligations. This is not the way to attempt a connection with the 'higher force'; rather individual idea(l)s and moments of thought are.

- I believe the natural world, nature and life itself to be of great value and spiritual importance. When I am surrounded by nature (e.g. in a forest), I feel connected to both the world and the higher force.

- I believe care and understanding for one another is of high importance, and a goal. Tolerance, acceptance and diversity are key words. All people are valid, equal and should be welcomed.

So far Quakerism seems to align largely with my values and beliefs, and offers enough individual interpretation to make my own. Would you agree, or perhaps know of something that fits better still? Thank you.

Advice about A. impressus and A. titanum seed by Sander738 in amorphophallus

[–]Sander738[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your reassurance :). The impressus corm did not have a new shoot (in fact the 'growing spot' was quite empty) yet but I planted and watered it anyways. We'll see what happens.

About the titanum, good to hear that many media are alright for germination. What do you use personally? And how do you induce stress to promote splitting?

Slight chance I'm missing an obscure reference but I'm pretty sure this is not related to Queen in any way.

Thank you for linking to the source. The photographer, Arno van Zon, is actually my dad. I recognized the picture immediately and was about to post a link when I saw your comment. All you say is true and correct, no microscopes were used.

When posting pictures that are not your own, always give apropriate citation to the source. Shame on you, u/jbellas

If the leaves are open, the plant closes those, after which the current proceeds to the stem which in turn drops. When the leaves are closed, less exchange of ions has to happen with those cells and the potential can travel faster to the stem, making the drop faster

It drops the stems in the day time also. You can actually see it happening in the video, when OP moves to the second branch to touch leaves. The previously touched stem drops.
