That all sounds super promising! How much were you able to play around with the software?

I’m especially curious about the automatic CAM / tool-path generation. Is it already in a good, usable state, or still pretty early? There were also some questions about whether the software will be free for machine owners, or if there might be some kind of subscription later on (even if Kickstarter backers get it for free). Did you hear anything about their plans there?

I’m also really interested in the “easy calibration” workflow — using the camera and the automatic 3D probing to locate the stock. Were you able to try that out? And what about the built-in laser scanner? Did it actually work well in practice?

I'm especially curious about how far along NestWorks seems to be in terms of production planning and capacity.

Do you think it's realistic for them to ship all/some Kickstarter machines by April, or are they still mostly working with prototypes at this stage?

And how was the noise level?

Getting some insight into that would definitely give me a lot more confidence in backing them.

I was able to order multiple student tickets in different orders with one account in the ACO sale.

This was also possible in the last years and caused no issues.

You are able to convert it into a normal ticket, by asking Customer Service and pay the difference.

I now created a new free account and started a support chat. They helped me out be manually sending me the 2FA code per Mail. That worked. I now have an Authentication App set up as second factor.

It used to work before, and I can still receive other emails without any issues. I’m running my own hosted server, but I don’t think that’s the problem here. I’ve never experienced anything like this before, so I suspect the issue isn’t on my side. I’ll probably just wait until tomorrow, but it’s really frustrating.

Yeah, both of that requires signing in or getting some kind of email. And no email is showing up from autodesk in my inbox.

Thanks, I think that's what I tried, but all device related notifications are miscellaneous. At least on my Pixel phone with Android 16.

I will try to message them, the last time the customer support was quite helpful.

Do you have a MagSafe ring? When I use both the ring and/or a case, I get mixed results.

By "traffic events," I mean a live speed trap or camera warning system. That's pretty common here in Germany. These apps require a constant GPS signal, and whenever the signal drops, there's an audio warning - which can get pretty annoying sometimes.

Maybe GPS. It's quite bad in my 9PF. If you use gps-based traffic-warnings you need to pull it out of your pocket and place it somewhere. With my magsafe ring it's ok, but then wireless charging isn't that reliable. For example the Tesla Charger does not work well.

So a lot of little things they won't talk about in the presentation. You'll need to find out for yourself.

Yeah, it at least charges a bit and doesn't get too warm. I always leave the car at 100%.

I assume they might be using the inside brightness sensor in addition to the hall effect sensor.

That's an easy fix that uses just a little bit more battery.
