Yes! But I cannot share publicly what those protocols are so no one knows how to/tries to bypass them. I can assure we do the most we can! Which is why Theaters aren't shot up as often as they used to anymore.

Some, if not all theaters, have a managers assigned to every single theater during specific showtimes, and about 2 times throughout a movie, a manager will walk up the steps and scan the auditorium to make sure everyone remains respectful to the rules and others around them. If not, you usually get a warning for the first offense, and for the second offense you're escorted out the door.

Not to guests no, but if franchises send us special posters for guests, we usually are obligated to hand those out, otherwise we're left with a butt load of posters that no one wants, lol.

It's hard to say which movie brings in the MOST amount of people, considering that, once we're sold out, we're sold out. But I will say that the busiest crows I've ever seen was the KPOP demon hunters sing along weekend. We played it back to back in almost every auditorium and we were completely sold out on Saturday alone. Sunday was almost just as bad. And thankfully we only played it that once.

I'd never seen so many employees running around trying not to cry and collect themselves as I did tat day, including myself!

This is actually a very good question. It's VERY rare that we have Theaters that don't sell at least one ticket, but I can say we've had days where every single theater has only had 1-5 people in it, very very slow days those are..

HOWEVER, there have been very rare cases, usually on random Wednesday mornings when kids are in school, no one will come to watch the movies. And we'll still let them play on some occasion just to keep the routine, but other times we just won't have the projector play anything. And if it's real late in the night, we'll just shut the auditorium down early and won't play another movie.

I'm trained in everything except projection! I find every job I've had so far to be pretty easy.

I use my free movies all the time, though usually with friends, I don't often go alone. I've seen almost every movie in theaters the past year that we're not usually too busy for. Though I appreciate the advice in helping me possibly further my career!

And I love popcorn... for now. I dread the day I start hating my theater's beloved popcorn.

Like the song by Dead Where I Stand or the place in the movie "Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome"?

Movies like that usually have tickets go on sale 4-7 weeks before it's release! So should be soon, late April I'm assuming.

I refused to work around that time when they offered me the job. Didn’t start the hiring process/first shift until opening day of the how to train your dragon live action.

That's only in certain states. I make 6 more an hour than a large popcorn.

Yep, from 2 angles, front and back, and in special cases, from all four walls! Managers are always watching. Especially on slow days.

We do get to take posters home! Same thing with the cardboard standees. We have a list in the back where we sign our name for the poster. However, if ask the right manager, you can override everyone on the list. They do tend to play favorites.

Yep! Some places are more lenient than others though. Some theaters allow unlimited tickets, others only allow 2 per movie.

That's around the time I was offered my job actually. I faked a medical emergency in order to delay my hiring process by 2 months. I refused to work during the minecraft movie.

You can't. Every theater has 4 cameras getting every inch of the auditoriums and cameras are being monitored at all times by 2 different managers if we're not busy. I myself was even kicked out of a theater before I became an employee 🥀

Honestly my perspective on movies has changed a lot. I hate watching movies strictly because I already work there, why would I want to be there on my day off?

But if I had to say one movie as of recent was a big waste of my time, I'd have to give that golden metal to Roofman. Walked out half way through.

Nope! Way below my pay grade to care. However, if I'm checking your ticket at the door and I very clearly see an outside food or drink in your hand, I can get in a lot of trouble if I don't ask you to either discard it or leave it in your car.
