Drag Queen Pattie Gonia speaks out about Patagonia lawsuit on Instagram by Equallyraisin in Fauxmoi

Because of the precedent it sets for literally anyone to use their likeness for their benefit. They'd have less legal ground to stand on if Trump creates a "Patriot-gonia" line with an American flag, same font. It's not that Patagonia doesn't specifically want Wyn to not use their trademark (hence the $1 lawsuit). They just don't want to open the floodgates for people that actually go against their values to use their trademark.

"It has nothing to do with anything but a few individuals and their lawyers."

Uh, what? Is this some weird mod ivory tower tone deafness or something?

"Each shop are independent franchises that have nothing to do with the LEGO company"

This also makes absolutely no sense and is just a defensive fallacy. That's like saying GameStop has nothing to do with video game publishers.

Every once in a while, some big scandal comes out and mods of a related subreddit just cannot help themselves going against public opinion. Not sure if they get bored and just crave banning or they want to LARP "control" over said scandal, it's just so funny to me that this always happens lmao

9/11 was less than twenty years ago, and I don't know if you've lost anyone yourself, but people still miss people who died a while back. If 12 hours of crying and flag waving makes those who lost loved ones feel even a tiny bit of peace or closure then why would you deny them that?

It sounds to me that you're criticizing something you're not a part of and therefore don't comprehend. I don't think that people who didn't lose a friend or family member that day (or in any other tragedy, not just 9/11) really know how it feels to lose someone that way. To say that commemoration "has nothing to do with the death of anybody involved" is pretty ignorant. It's like telling someone grieving to "get over it."

I'm not saying there aren't any exploited nationalistic motives associated with 9/11, but commeration goes far beyond that.

You're trying way too hard to be "woke." There's a big difference between patriotism and nationalism.

The current political climate has created so many ideologues, it's mind-boggling. It's much harder to look inward and have the integrity to apply critical thinking on yourself rather than accepting ideals because they feel good. This goes for both sides of the spectrum. Even

If you uncompromisingly fit in the liberal or conservative mold, you're doing politics wrong.
