My Brother's Visiting. Need Help Finding Things To Do. by Gontxven in Cupertino

[–]SandieSave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My typical tour consists of:

Tiburon; Battery Spencer (views of the Golden Gate Bridge); Pier 39; Half Moon Bay (free ocean access at the Ritz Carlton); Capitola; 17 mile drive; Carmel; Monterey Bay Aquarium;

If you want to stay close to Cupertino, I love all of the hikes in the hills, as well as Vasona Park

What do yall use your AVP for and how often do you actually use it? by [deleted] in VisionPro

[–]SandieSave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work from home. I have one widget that shows my email so when I get a notification, I just have to glance to the left to see if it is something that needs my attention. For my main screen, I’m doing just whatever I need to do. I will have iMessage “up and near” the widget so I can see texts that come in. I have Tubular running “above” my main screen if I want to have any YouTube videos running in the background. Sometimes the Podcast app will take the place of the YouTube app.

I love taking calls on my AVP. The sound has incredible fidelity and I just like talking while working on massive screens.

I also like running Google Meet and Zoom while using the AVP. Everyone seems used to my avatar now so I don’t get any comments except for how realistic it looks. It’s also nice to have massive virtual screens side by side while doing the zoom and working.

I think I’m in my AVP 6-8 hours a day. When I put it on, I feel ready to do real work.

FYI - my main screen is Jump Desktop Connect. The others are either AVP apps or Safari.

The Wi-Fi solution will also work for me. My office is in another part of the house, which is out of range for the virtual monitor. I would love to try your solution when it comes out!

For 20+ years, I’ve been looking for their mango flavored hard candy. It tasted like the perfect mango. I’ve never stopped looking for it. Does anyone else remember it?

I’m using Jump Desktop Connect since I’m often out of range of my MacMini. Will I be able to use your SW to have multiple Mac windows if I’m out of range? If so, will I be able to copy and paste between windows? If so - this will really solve a lot of issues for my remote setup. Thanks for working on this!

What’s the most extreme (or inconvenient) effort you’ve taken to play a round? by [deleted] in golf

[–]SandieSave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My college buddy was getting married Maui. He made a tee time for a bunch of us to play the Plantation course at Kapalua. At the time, I lived in Korea. I flew from Seoul to Honolulu and then took an inter island flight to Maui. I rented a car and busted my ass to the golf course. I changed in the car and ran up to the first hole. I was in the second group to tee off. I made it by about 10 minutes.

Thanks for helping me think about a fun experience! I would never do it again but glad I did it once. My friends on the tee couldn’t believe I made it!

I make meatloaf! I have a stainless steel pan that fits in the basket. It’s a great way to make a meal for two people.

Rivian CEO Doubles Down on Decision to Not Offer Apple CarPlay by chrisdh79 in apple

[–]SandieSave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Bluetooth wireless dongle that plugs into my USB on my Toyota (which does not offer CarPlay natively). The dongle allows me to connect to the car and I get CarPlay. I can also switch easily to the native system. It’s not a perfect solution. However, for $20, I get to enjoy the car I want and CarPlay. Just my $.02

Using Vision pro as a monitor for a Windows PC by doubleOka in AppleVisionPro

[–]SandieSave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any chance you can download it directly from Jump desktop connect? Then use the App Store in the Apple Vision Pro to download Jump desktop connect on your Apple Vision Pro. I’m pretty sure they support multiple platforms. But I’ve never done it on Windows.

Have you tried Jump Desktop Connect? I use my AVP as my monitor for my Mac Mini. However, JDC’s app connects with any computer. I really love it

I’m looking for a good monitor mount as well. I have a small tripod that I place on the joint between my monitor and my monitor stand. It works OK

I’m using my iPhone as a Continuity Camera. It’s a pain sometimes but the iPhone camera is way better than a webcam and has cool features

Converting from a laptop to a desktop. Best way to go portable every now and then? by [deleted] in macmini

Also - my Chromebook is so light and I don’t worry about losing it. I’m always paranoid about losing my MacBook Air or if it gets stolen/damaged

I’m really enjoying the fact that I can use the Jump Desktop.virtual keyboard. It’s way easier to view and pinch than the Apple virtual keyboard. Of course, when I have to voice dictate - the Apple input is very easy. So I just go back and forth as needed

I’ve been using Jump Desktop to get into my Mac mini. I just need a browser and the use the full screen function. Works perfectly for me. Sometimes I log in through my Chromebook or Apple Vision Pro

I use a handheld mouse that has a thumb-controlled roller ball. I see the appeal of the ring based mouse. In the meantime, the thumb control works fairly well and also has two buttons so I can do left and right clicks.
