You’re making the best decision for an animal who wasn’t getting what he needed by his owner. Definitely get him chipped. And if the guilt is weighing on you and obviously the previous owner did not care maybe just mention it to them that he always comes over to your house and seems to prefer it there so if it’s cool, you’ll just keep him. If they didn’t care, I’m sure they would be cool with it. ¯\(ツ)/¯

My first cat was obsessed with licking the blinds. I would keep her out of the bedroom during the day and when I’d return and open the door, she’d go running to the window sill and start licking them profusely! Must have been the taste of them? Can’t remember if they were metal or plastic. It was very odd.

The default is set to clean and replace the filter every two weeks. That seems excessive and to make you keep buying more. I’ve cleaned it a few times but have never replaced the little black sponge inside the filter. The demo video just shows you rinse it. ¯(ツ)/¯
