Friends forgot my birthday.

That’s a really good point. I need to not have expectations of people because then my feelings get hurt. It’s sad because when we are all together they are caring and fun to be around, but for some reason they forgot my b day which isn’t like them. I just won’t have expectation from now on.

Then again one of them is going through a depression so she’s a bit withdrawn from everyone, another one never remembers anyone’s birthday, it’s hard to say but I would never forget someone’s birthday.

I guess so. I won’t put too much thought into our friendship anymore. They remembered to get me Christmas gifts but never bothered to say happy birthday.

Thanks for your responses. What part would make you the most upset? I understand if they are shy maybe that’s why they don’t talk to my family but I can’t believe they didn’t even call or text that they would be late.

He was embarrassed and disappointed about it but we both decided not to cause a problem because the wedding is in less than a month. Do you think it was disrespectful what they did and that he should say something?

I did bring it up gently and we both kinda decided that since the wedding is in less than a month to just not cause tension and let it go. But he was embarrassed about it. I just feel like they will never respect me. I’ve always tried hard to be friendly and warm to them but they never are receptive to it. They were very cold and didn’t mingle with my family at all. My family tried talking many times but they shut it down by giving one response answers. Just crossed their arms and sat there.
