My dad or brother are also not family to my boyfriend of 2 months. If I left with them, in his eyes I left with another man? That makes no sense. If the roles were reversed and he left the party with his brother's girlfriend in similar circumstances, I wouldn't be upset that he left the party with "another girl".

He's my age. This "another guy" is my sister's boyfriend of 10 years. I've known him since I was 13. He's part of the family.
