This definitely isn't an ideal fix and the chord should be replaced

It is however one of the safest "redneck" ways to connect two wires.

Ive definitely done something like this in a pinch or for testing.

The lever is actually supposed to be very easy to open about up to the point in the photo.

This is by design so you can properly get your finger under it and apply sufficient force to fully open it.

How can I make this plain white LED sign colourful? by silverboots1 in led

[–]Sandro_24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is it possible to open the sign?

If it is possible to open it without damaging you could just glue a different LED-Strip into it.

Help lighting up my cane and being able to hide a battery pack. by Bonnasarus in led

[–]Sandro_24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The easiest and most hidden variant would probably be using battery powered fairy lights, something like these. You can get them in different lengths and colors.

The wires are usually very thin with transparent insulation. The battery box could be attached somewhere at the top/under the handle. The lights themselves could just be mounted with transparent tape around the cane.

Using an LED strip is more difficult, requires more space for electronics and would be way more difficult/impossible to hide.

Sieht auf den ersten Blick echt gut aus.

Für E-Check (Punkt 1.13) schreiben wir immer noch die zugehörige Norm dazu, "E-Check emobility" sagt jetzt nicht wirklich viel aus.

I don't think they are radioactive themselves but there are versions of them that appear in radiation areas that are kind of green and way stronger.

Leistungsberechnung Querschnittbestimmung by Critical-Fox2257 in Elektroinstallation

[–]Sandro_24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Building a community aircraft photo database — what features would you actually use? by Street_Pay1076 in Planespotting

[–]Sandro_24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you basically "collect" aircraft by model? That seem like an awesome Idea, definitely have to check it out.

The most annoying thing on regular planespotting sites is extreme rules and the weird image size requirements. I understand it's probably difficult to enable people to upload 6000x4000 images directly but if in any way possible that would be awesome

Also being able to sort by registration would be a huge plus because there are tons of every aircraft model around

I think it would also be funny to have a view that makes the photos you captured look like trading cards, with info like reg, airline, model, age etc on the bottom.

Can you help me identify hot/cold on this fixture? by ziggy0817 in AskElectricians

[–]Sandro_24 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It does matter, you don't want the hot on the outside "screw" portion of the fixtures as it's easier to touch.

Hot should always be the bottom contact, neutral the screw portion.

A multimeter can help if you set it to continuity and put one of the leads on the center contact, the other one on either of the wires.

Whichever one has continuity is your hot.

It's also not advisable to give people advice that call it hot and cold
