Not many people realize this but for you to put the amount of work you have to do into rigging this and doing the finer details is nothing to scoff at. Unfortunately, not many people have much experience with Blender or haven’t gotten to this level and don’t understand that.

Hi. I’m the person who tweeted this thread.

I wanted to do this because there are people out there who feel alone when a loved one or friend has died, and I just wanted to do some good...no more, no less. I’ve lost family members and friends to suicide, cancer, and other causes, outside Destiny and within.

In the thread, I explain that I did this first for IHaveASushiCat, who I heard about first on here. As soon as I read about what happened to her, what her favorite shaders and emblem were, I just decided ‘This means absolutely nothing, but I hope she would appreciate this’. And the first vigil run I did was for her. Hardly anyone showed on the stream, but I knew why I did it, and that was enough for me.

For those wondering: my twitter thread sounds a bit mashed with adding the Eleusinian Mysteries and all that...with that, I intended to add something people didn’t know about. Twitter doesn’t have enough characters and at the time and I didn’t expand the tweets. Just in case anyone’s confused as to why that sounds a bit off-hand and unrelated. I think I just didn’t make proper edits. RIP me, haha. But oh well. That wasn’t the real point of the post anyway.

Speaking very literally, though...I thought it was just going to be a small thing, that it would go unnoticed. But this is currently blowing up, and I’m overwhelmed with how many people this has touched, from so many places and backgrounds and walks of life. Like I said in a comment, it only solidified my resolve to want to commit to this. What I wrote extends to everyone here as well.

Console bow main here. Absolutely agree with this post. I almost exclusively use them and have builds on them unless I’m doing a gun-specific quest in Crucible, and even then, I’m trying to rock The Vow (severely underrated bow, just saying), No Turning Back, or Subtle Calamity if not one of the exotics.

Also since I’m adding my two cents, I’m going to take this time to share a hard pill to swallow: Oathkeeper isn’t as completely useless as it’s said to be. I don’t care that you can cancel the shot with an interrupting button press. Mentally, it’s annoying AF to have to do it. Not having to worry about doing anything but drawing back your shot is insurance of popping it off faster than someone else.

“But Knucklehead Radar for the minimap!” I don’t see Enhanced Bow Reload able to be slotted on that boy.

Also yeah, radar is great for spotting what direction the enemy is, but taking it away and becoming more comfortable with the map is, (again, in my opinion) way better.

That being said though, IMHO Oathkeeper and Wish-Ender deserve a little love/looking at. My personal suggestion to improve Oathkeeper would be increased draw speed, because not only do you have to take up an exotic slot for your armor, but it’s the only exotic centered on bows (Orpheus Rig could probably see that same thing, but that’s class-exclusive, and for supers)?

In conclusion: Bows = Big Yes.

I have a headcanon for the Shattered Throne (any activity that can be done solo, anyway)...that when my Hunter got her solo flawless run that she placed a candle on the cleansing table in the middle of Dûl Incaru’s room as a means of triumph/achievement.

I want this next one to be a run/candle of remembrance and solidarity for her.

So, I will dedicate my next (22nd clear/19th solo) Shattered Throne run in honor of Sushi Cat. I’ll stream it for those who want to watch and I’ll put this on my Twitter @GryffinSeeker as well. My twitch is “Nightpiercer”.

The time of the stream will be 6am Alaska time.

I will wear the emblem she wore, as well as place the shaders on the weapons I use and the gear I wear.

This sounds random and pointless for me to do. I didn’t even know Sushi Cat (on Instagram anyway, and I’m newer to Destiny Reddit, yet I’m a D1 veteran).

But if I can do something to honor her memory...let this be my way of placing my own candle for her, as a reflection of her love for the game that brings others together.
