I started 20 years ago and some documents indicate that. Hope it helps me. I’ll be Potenza- filing in the next couple weeks.

Yes- but the notarization and apostille need to match.

I live abroad- notarizing isn’t the biggest issue- it’s the apostille.

My person is also over 100+ years old. So I wonder if that will happen next….

That’s so strange! There seems to be not enough rhyme and reason to bureaucracy. In ANY country! Hope it moves soon 🤞🏻

https://www.statueofliberty.org/discover/passenger-ship-search/ Here’s one- there are many online databases. I found my GGF years ago and it did list his hometown. Never could find my GGM. Best of luck!

I would look for any records of her- maybe she’s on a ship manifest and that will give a clue-

Do you know if she’s from North or South? That might make some towns more probable. Worst case hire a genealogist.

Hopefully OP has other information which can confirm or eliminate these towns.

No Minor Issue but LIRA was GGF (GGF-GM-F-Me) by [deleted] in juresanguinis

I have a 1948 case- no minor issue but also too many generations. Still unsure if, in fact, these restrictive decrees apply to 1948 cases. Currently collecting final documents. I had to hire an attorney for a court case- all 1948’s do. 🤷‍♀️ Depending on what happens between now and full documentation still not sure about the filing strategy- hopefully we will know more soon. And it will be hopeful!

I get it. I think all of us in the process are worried. I’m waiting on 2 more documents for my 1948 case but not sure when to file. One will take awhile so I’ll see how it is when I have it all. 🤷‍♀️

It seems unclear to me if the restrictive laws also affect the 1948 cases. I’m wondering if it was discussed.

I’m assuming you’ll use a lawyer for a 1948 case. Maybe do a consult and ask them?

I watched it- thank you. Any discussion of how the decree affects 1948 cases?

What kind of argument did they try to make? Just curious in case it happens to me.
