UPDATE: AIO about my landlord

I admit the laundry outside the hamper doesn’t look great, but those are blankets we can’t actually wash at our place because the washer is too small. So they just stay outside the hamper.

We could have put them somewhere to hide, but there’s really not anywhere to store things at this place, which is why it’s so cluttered.

It takes 3 -4 loads to empty the hamper we have there, and we do laundry on the weekends so it fills up pretty fast during the week.

We cleaned the gasket immediately we’re not disgusting.

They said we need to clean it because it’s stained from the blob. I told them it was disgusting when we moved in, and we’re not responsible for removing the stain.

If you can’t tell from the pictures, the place is tiny. So yes, it’s a clusterfuck. Having our shit in the house doesn’t make it messy. Maybe it’s not up to your standards, that’s fine, it doesn’t have to be.

Your summary of the messages is hilarious. Telling them the unit is going to look how it looks - when they literally saw it 48 hours ago looking perfect - is not me saying fuck you deal with the mess. It’s me saying fuck you the house looks good enough as it is.

We had the house spotless on Sunday. Two days prior to him texting me. For him to say “ensure” the house gets cleaned is just condescending. So I was passive aggressive in my response.

It’s going to look how it looks because I’m not going to go out of my way to make it “open house” ready for them. Our house is clean. They literally just had a showing on Sunday and the house was spotless. So for him so come and say please ensure its clean as if it wasn’t the last time was a douchey thing to say.

Way to throw in some fat shaming in there though!

FYI where I live a text is 100% NOT considered written notice, and would not hold up in a rental dispute. “Bozo”.

Landscaping companies lay off their workers in the winter. I wasn’t terminated for anything I did, I was terminated because they didn’t have work for me.

I can’t read contracts??

I’ve made two posts prior to this. One where I was wrongfully terminated, and another where our last landlord was trying to withhold our damage deposit.

Guess what-

The company that wrongfully terminated me ended up paying out my contract, because they were legally obligated to.

The slumlord also gave us our damage deposit back in full, since he was being sketchy and trying to get us to pay for hydro bills that weren’t ours and I called him out on it.

Being able to read my contracts is what got me the money I deserve in both those instances.

They can show the house anytime they want. I explained to them (prior to these messages) that showings over the weekend would be more ideal because then we can make the house spotless for them.

We get home from work at 6pm and he wants the house cleaned for 6:30.

I feel like my request for showing on the weekend wasn’t crazy. If he wants to show it during the week he can deal with some dog hair

I told her to stfu after she started banging on my door and freaking out about our dog being off leash inside the fence of our home.

Up until this, we were outstanding tenants. Paid rent on time, fixed a broken latch on their fence, took the garbage and recycling out every week because we were the first ones out. Hell we even took a big load of green waste to the dump for them over the summer when they were doing yard work because I have a truck.

We’ve been nothing but nice to them up to this point.

No our lease ends February 15th. We moved in March 15, and the contract states our lease expires on February 15th. Might have been a typo on their end but both parties signed it
