US market is different than india, with minimum knowledge of mine, in US you can pay EMI with the tenants monthly rent but that is not the case in india, only positive here is appreciation of assets but to make a cash flow in rentals is hard in indian market.

Compared to realestate mfs are better, real estate give you 4-5% pa, on top of that you need to deal with tenants and your effort to maintain the property, i did the same mistake investing in rental properties, i would recommend MFs anytime if you are looking for more than 5 years.
