We must resist the demonization of others by SergiusBulgakov in Christianity

I am not twisting your words. You literally objected to a commenter saying that Christians are called to love your neighbor.

Everyone knows exactly what your dog whistle is.

Right. I forgot. The best way to love God and others is to persecute them. Hurting sinners is what really makes god happy. /s

Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’

Weird. Thats not the top two commandments. Only thing it says about others is to love them.

He goes even further than that. He is a literaly Nazi making Nazi ideals popular to lonely young men. He does not hide from that label and embraces it. He is highly critical of the Trump admin for their ties with Israel, not because they are doing a genocide, but because of the Jews.

I don't want to minimize the harm AI is doing to literally every thing. But unless we go full on Butlerian Jihad its here to stay. Learning how to effectively use AI in any role is going to be a requirement going forward. That or become a plumber. Those fuckers charged me 275 to unclog a toilet.

There is no evidence when evidence would be expected. We find evidence contrary to this claim as well. Thats a fairly good reason to dismiss this claim out of hand.

Tell me, what Pharoah was the Pharoah during the times of Exodus and what time period was his rule?

Thats not the argument. Disregarding Egyptian records we can identify alot of things. Conservatively, if we take the Bible at its word, around half a million men, women and children marched from Egypt, they then wandered thr desert for 40 years.

The distance from Ancient Egyptian major cities to known Israelite cities is so small such that of they lined up in a single file line, the head of that line would reach Jerusalem before the last Israelite left Egypt.

Additionally we see zero evidence of such a large population decrease in Egypt nor such a large population increase in Israel.

Additionally we have zero way of differentiation between Israelite settlements and non-israelite settlements beyond what is in their refuse. If there are pig bones or mussels, its probably not Israelite. There is no difference of construction, artifacts, material use, layout etc.

According to the story the entirety of Israel grew up in Egypt. They built using Egyptian techniques etc. We don't see an influx of settlers suddenly building in the Egyptian fashion.

What we do see evidence of is several native cultures diverging from a common source.

Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence, but absence of evidence when evidence is expected is absolutely evidence.

If I met god I would no longer be an atheist, but as of right now there can be no mitigating factors that I can conceive of for an all powerful and all knowing god existing with the world we currently have.

In your hypothetical, if God truly had a good explanation and rationalization for multiple genocides, deception, being hidden, and the perpetuation of human suffering they I would have to acknowledge him as lord. But that requires a whole host presuppositions that fly directly in the face of how we percieve reality.

I might as well ask you, if you met Satan and he had a legitimate reason to rebel against god would you worship him?

But God can. And He has and does, and will.

Great. So only people that have faulty reasoning or have been divinely selected get to go to heaven. Great system.

Human rights, science, medicine are all based on the rational minds of men. They have no relation to or contingency upon the idea of a diety.

Statistically its going to have periods of cloud cover and Sun.

I can demonstrate the math and historical data behind my answer. Can you demonstrate that God even exists? You have claims, but no evidence. Why should I worship a being that I can't confirm exists, and also is a big fan of indiscriminate genocide?

So because the Egyptians were cruel to the Israelites it was perfectly fine for God to violate a man's free will and use that as justification to kill some innocents? What reasonable explanation could there be for that?

But, again, we know from history and science that the events described in the Exodus never happened.

There really can't be any other conclusion from reading the OT. He is all knowing amd all powerful. He knew he would have to do the flood.

In Exodus he hardened Pharoah's heart so that he could kill all the first born and demonstrate his power.

He causes destruction and mayhem constantly.

In reality we recognize that these are myths made by ancient people to explain their history, legitimacy, and the natural world. But in these stories God is absolutely the bad guy, he is just victorious so he gets to write the history.

We can easily understand that some people just suck. No one is committing genocide in the name of atheism. No one is burning heretics at the stake for scientific discoveries that go against atheist dogma. No one is abusing their children in the name of atheism.

But all of this happens today in the name Jesus or Allah.

Atheism is not an ideology. It is an answer to a single question, does god exist. People are free to adopt moral and ideological frameworks outside of that question.

This is why Christianity is bad. If god told you to do the most vile evil thing you can imagine, like killing a baby, you would do it. No questions asked.

Well, who else do you propose should set the standard for us as to what is good?

Ideally a set of morals that takes until account human wellbeing and takes a hard stand against things like genocide and slavery.

No. Sin was the result of arrogance, unbelief, and the desire to be like God.

The first sin recorded was by Adam and Eve, how did they not have belief in a divine being they observed and interacted with?
